Hi Charlie and busy buddies, I like it when the place opens early!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Michael:

Hey now. Here, listening and doing Saturday stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm listener james from westwood:

Good Saturday, Charlie and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm listener james from westwood:

I want to read the book that might use that photo as its cover art.
  12:02pm wendy del formaggio:

What is this theme? Vertigo? I’m on the edge of my seat!
  12:02pm Bill W:

Hello Charlie! This fandango sounds like THE MAN IN LINCOLN'S NOSE (original title).
  12:02pm wendy del formaggio:

Whoops. Close. I guess I coulda just waited.
Anyway, hi Charlie! Hi other friends!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm listener james from westwood:

This timeslot has indeed been known for a bit of vertigo . . .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm chresti:

Back when women climbed rocks in heels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Charlie:

Hiya, chresti, Michael, LJFW, Wendeleh, Bill W!
  12:04pm wendy del formaggio:

Listener James, exactly!
  12:05pm julie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm Doug Schulkind:

Avatar 12:07pm βrian:

Carrots and collards planted. Time to do nothing. Good morning.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm listener james from westwood:

Judy Judy Judy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm listener james from westwood:

Ah, the original industrial music! I have yet to see that Bathtubs over Broadway doc but I hear it's good.
  12:17pm wendy del formaggio:

“Product Music” is one of my favorite comps ever! I got mine a million years ago when the Montague (MA) Book Mill sold CDs on the top floor in...uh...1997?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm listener james from westwood:

You can hear the point where this interviewee begins mentally backing away from Coyle & Sharpe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Michael:

I had in-laws that lived in Montague. MIL grew up in Greenfield.
  12:19pm MikeFrom Alaska:

receiving the KGO signal!
Avatar 12:21pm schmutz:

I used to live right by the Montague Book Mill !! One of my favorite places.
  12:21pm wendy del formaggio:

@Michael: I love both towns. The Pioneer Valley is such a wonderful place. I’m in Northfield today, at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm doctorjazz:

Hi Busy Bodies!
  12:23pm kitty:

hello humans!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Michael:

I’m completely on the other side of the state. Head east on Route 2 and keep going.
  12:24pm wendy del formaggio:

@Schmutz: Lucky you! Also a fav place of mine. I like the stuffed arm chair on the first floor that’s next to the window, where you can gaze out at the stream...and take a nap...
  12:25pm Tower:

Finally made it in. Took a bit to figure out how today.
Avatar 12:28pm schmutz:

@Wendy yes!! perfect place to spend the day. They opened another record shop eventually– not sure if it's still there. Out in Austin TX now and so missing Pioneer Valley..
Avatar 12:29pm northguineahills:

Bathtubs over Broadway, the oddest Weird Al parody of the OutKast's "Bombs over Bagdad"...
Avatar 12:30pm βrian:

Nobody ever credits the studio hand-clappers either, darn it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Charlie:

  12:33pm wendy del formaggio:

@Schmutz: Turn It Up, a small local record chain, opened a little store in one of those buildings in the book mill compound. Not sure when.
Avatar 12:34pm northguineahills:

One of Ken's fave's!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm spodiodi:

hummingbirds! nice. we get the occasional one in back of our place here.
  1:00pm wendy del formaggio:

Two hummingbirds moved to my neighborhood a few weeks ago. Until then, I’d only seen a hummingbird maybe 4 times in my life. So, I’m pretty psyched. They come and drink from the jewelweed and phlox multiple times a day. I love them.
Avatar 1:00pm Sem:

Ruby-throated, I guess, WdF?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Michael 98145:

Always loved this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm coelacanth∅:

LOL, Charlie
Avatar 1:14pm βrian:

Oh, we're making pickles today, speaking of Mae West.
  1:14pm Bill W:

I've been rewatching some of Mae West's prime films this year. Still haven't steeled myself for MYRA BRECKENRIDGE or SEXTETTE.
  1:15pm Tower:

Supposedly that noise at the end of Be My Lover is Neal Smith dropping a drum stick.
  1:15pm Tower:

Have her LP and 45s on the Tower label of course. The LP had a cool poster.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm doctorjazz:

Speaking of dance parties...

Be strong, Bill. If anyone can, you can!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Michael 98145:

  1:35pm wendy del formaggio:

Mike, I’ve been meaning to call you with the punch line to the smoke alarm story from last weekend. It started chirping late that night, and after much scrambling around trying to find the source...it was in the basement all along!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm chresti:

Hola spodi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Ike:

Who would win a fight between a can of bees (Soft Boys) and a can of Aegean okra (Can)? Wrong answers only.
