Hi Sam. It was traumatic but I left the radio on..

Gary, NGH, Chris, Chresti, and TDK! Talk about an all-star assemblage of horseless (music) heads.

The little taste of Amede Ardoin from the stream between show was sweet. Now sounds like radio station scanning, hmmm, what year.

Bringing the static to internet radio!

Before the WFMU app, I would usually just leave the dial b/tn radio stations to get bleeding of different stations...

Sam Segal:

Howdy, WR! Your guess is as good as mine. Sometime after 2009 based on the presence of Train's "Hey, Soul Sister." Could be more recent than that though. Let's see if we can figure it out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm
Sam Segal:

Glad I could approximate that experience for you with this piece, NGH.

As is so often the case, Kidz Bop's version of those chart toppers was superior to the original.

Wouldn't have picked you for a Kidz Bop Head, Dean!

My guess is various years, when was the last time the Beatles were back in town? LOL.
Avatar 10:16pm
northguineahills:

Then again, in college, sometimes I would just blare radio static from my car to the bewilderment of the other students (while others just blared bass tunes [I did that occasionally as well])
Avatar 10:22pm
TDK60:

I used to walk home from a late night bar gig with a small blaster playing classical. Off topic I guess (unless the station got static-y).

Interesting chresti, that appears to be other people doing Casey Anderson's "composition ". Like different people do with some John Cage conceptual works. Perhaps...

ok, why is Anna Webber new to me!!!???
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:27pm
WR:

Still searching for the Mazen long version. Ironically I found on the Wired website: "The mp3 is being hosted by WFMU. "Starry Night" is an improvised composition featuring Mazen Kerbaj on trumpet (blown, hissed-through, rubbed) and the Israeli Airforce on bombs (dropped, detonated). It's a nighttime soundscape that is horrific, meditative, profoundly sad. It's beautiful and awful."

The WFMU link to the MP3 still works, 6 minute version.

NGH, if you had listened to March 28 Sewelson's show you would have heard her. Although that focused on her big band collaboration with Morris, another lady sax player,
