---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Erik Hall | Section I | Music For 18 Musicians (by Steve Reich) | Western Vinyl | 2020 | Michigan artist / Raised in Chicago, Hall attended the University of Michigan and discovered the piece while driving in a blizzard from Toronto to Ann Arbor, with a CD (on loan from his school's library) playing in the car. A love affair with the music began. It wasn't until years later after he set up a recording studio in his Southwest Michigan home that the idea of recreating the piece started to take shape. The original instrumentation consists of violin, cello, female voice, piano, maracas, marimba, xylophone, metallophone, clarinet, and bass clarinet. By playing all the instruments himself, Hall simplified the process by sticking to electric guitar, prepared piano, and Moog synthesizer (with room mics capturing the air around each device), recording one layer at a time during February 2019. | * | 0:00:00 (Pop-up) | |||

Rosas are usually pretty fast at removing full videos from youtube. They did make some available during the lockdown, but they took them down since

Thanks for asking about my eye. It’s something I have to be hyper aware of, to let the doctor know if the light flashes made a sudden increase I was instructed to call, as that could mean the retinal tear versus *just the vitreous. So it’s got me worried about being overly cautious, or perhaps ignoring a clear sign. The symptoms came on suddenly in the first place. So can’t help wondering if the flashes I see are worse or maybe I am too focused on them :-/
Too many puns.. keep an eye on it, watch it... stink eye...

Stanley: I read about the new Flying Scotsman service a while back, seems nice on paper at least but I read they had some hiccups during the first few days. The pics of the sleeper cars looked really cool.
