Just got in from a fun out and about day. Hope you're well. @Therese

Chameleons so crucial. i think i saw there are new live albums on the way.
Avatar 6:13pm graphic_taco:

@chresti I grew up in SoCal, Covina specifically. I'm currently in Atlanta...the humidity and mosquitos are powerful foes

I'll take it, steveo. What a freaking relief.

Seriously, lukavino, here too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm mariano:

Handy me lad. How many adventurers did you annihilate this time?
  6:23pm Andres:

The Canadian stereotype is that we talk about the weather too much. I'm happy to see that we aren't the only ones and like music it is a nexus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

i always here the name "Carol Bayer Sager" in Monty Python voice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm Handy Haversack:

Ha, Mariano, they decided that keeping on healing their necrohencher was a waste of resources and left her to die. All others lived, but they really wandered. And squandered. Lots of resources expended, and they still don't know how to defeat the plague gargoyle.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm mariano:

Andres: everywhere I've been I've seen people engaging in the same stereotypical behavior they make fun of others for supposedly engaging in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm Therese:

@Mx. Granny: even with these smooth Michael McDonald background vocals?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm mariano:

Plague gargoyle? They don't know you just have to put salt on its tail?

Neither had I, until I heard it on this compilation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hello, Therese and familiar faces.
Avatar 6:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I suppose being conspicuous for your sophistication gets boring...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

Therese: i don't want to tell you what the name Michaeal McDonald conjures up in my addled brain.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

Ken From Hyde Park: always a delight to see you skeleton trucking along!
  6:37pm (another) Patrick in Hoboken:

1. I appreciate that in the playlist you tell us the title of the bed music.
2. was about to say that Janet Jackson on Friday’s show put me in a mood, as they say!
  6:37pm Jett:

"Track Of The Cat" by Dionne Warwick comes from that period when she was doing stuff in collaboration with Thom Bell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm Therese:

Mx. Granny: For me, he conjures the episode of "What's Happening!!" where Roger, Dwayne and Re-Run go to a Doobie Brothers concert and take down a scalper in the process.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm mariano:

Oh Handy, I looked up "The Visible Filth" and... no effing way. Nothing with roaches in it. That'd be like living in a town filled with serial killers and watching "Silence of the Lambs." And 1 second of the trailer for the film version ("Wounds") was more than enough for me! www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Therese:

Thank you, @(another) Patrick! Glad I'm not alone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm chresti:

Dionne sounded like she was aiming for Disco Diva, production wise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm chresti:

Gonna jump into the cold shower, be back in a few..
Avatar 6:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...like to hear Dionne sing this !...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Haha, thanks Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm mariano:

Oh wow Therese, you were just talking about Debbie Davis and Josh Paxton, cool!
Avatar 6:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...thinking of Marianne Faihtful actually...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm mariano:

Bravo! to the Davis & Paxton. Will have to catch them around town.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm chresti:

Taking Dolly with me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm mariano:

Hey you/y'all know the Sylvester Stallone country song "Drinkenstein"? From "Rhinestone," 80s flick he made with Dolly.

Heard, Mariano!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm Handy Haversack:

The Suffra-Jet Set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm mariano:

I will do that and report back, Therese!

Handy: when I was 13 or so at the movies watching Creepshow with a friend, during the roach story (when they're all over the place!) I ran my fingers up the back of his neck, and it was like he'd been catapulted straight up into the air. But seriously: lots of roaches in the book or is that more the movie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm Michael 98145:

I have been in theaters with roach carnivals on the seat backs. Not recently, however.
  7:01pm BH:

obviously the ERA needs some songs about it

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Michael 98145:

Who doesn't love Dolly doesn't love Life
  7:04pm Criswell:

I predict that the scenarios described in the film Escape from New York and escape from La will soon become a reality
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Handy Haversack:

Yeah, Mariano, there are plenty in the book, but, you know -- they are the symptom, not the disease.
Avatar 7:06pm ledzeppelinsucks:

I saw Dolly Parton in a Milli Vanilli fiasco in Golden Gate Park. The tape stopped and the band kept 'playing', then they stopped while the sound was out, then the volume came back on and after a few seconds they resumed miming. Total fraud live. Band and lip sinc.
  7:09pm Jett:

@Therese Is that I.O.U. - Freeez? I loved that record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Therese:

@Jett- that's the one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm mariano:

Bummer, Handy. You know, I should write a NOLA horror story for the roach-averse community. Finally tell *our* story.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm Handy Haversack:

I will back your Patreon, Mariano!

And yours, Therese -- Fugazi!

I remember growing up how people were all like, "You'll never find a radio program that plays Dolly Parton *and* Fugazi! You should just give up all your dreams now."

Well. In your FACE, doubters!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm mariano:

I didn't go to nearly as many legendary shows back in the day as some of the Accu stalwarts, but I did see Fugazi on their first tour. Rented out bingo hall (because of course!), $5, 5 bands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm Michael 98145:

@HH, hahaha

:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm mariano:

Actually Dolly opened for Fugazi when I saw them.

Avatar 7:28pm northguineahills:

I had a conversation online about Corey Booker, and the person was complaining he was too much of a centrist (if I was a Jerseyite, I'd vote for him) In FL, he'd be a pinko commie (we're going to be a purple state this election, mark my words. Influx of our hermanos y hermanas de PR will help make it happed).
Avatar 7:29pm northguineahills:

Toots & the Maytals!
  7:30pm Jett:

Cory's politics is like a Chinese menu, at times ultra liberal, at times ultra conservative, at times centrist. I think the guy is full of crap!
  7:30pm Mike tp:

in the mood to Toot the pipe.thanjs Therese...
Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Somm Ben:

Double down on the props for the Toots
  7:32pm Criswell:

I predict that during the current election cycle, and all to follow, most people will vote with their fields and according to the constant stream of propaganda pumped through evil device the television. And that America will not be recognizable as such with in 20 years
  7:32pm Jett:

Always cool to hear Toots Hibbert. Great guy!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Hi Therese! This week's score on Psychic DJ Friends Network is one. You played one song I'm playing on my show tomorrow. But, there's still 25 minutes left.

Hi, Therese. I was digging behind the scenes, but I have to say, Big Ups for the TNG DUB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm Wendy del Formaggio:

@Therese: True, but none means I probably learn more music that's new to me. So, either way, yay!

I was listening to some Linton Kwesi Johnson a few days ago, hadn't dug that out in quite a long time. Still as great as I remember. Are you hip to him @Therese?
  7:44pm gyopo:

where can i download/buy/listen to the tng dub song ?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Mr. Pumpy:

@lukavino...I bounced around in that season recently. I think I may get down with it soon, as well.

@Handy & @Wendy- I'm thinking it was Essra Mohawk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Hi Handy!

It was "Island Song" from U.S. Girls. I love that song and hadn't played it in awhile. It reminds me of synth-dance-pop but through a cough syrup lens.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm Wendy del Formaggio:

@Therese, I don't know Essra Mohawk. I also tuned in too late to hear it, but, like I mentioned before, now I have something new to learn about. Yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Handy Haversack:

Nice, Wendy! We'll be tuning in tomorree!
