A three-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

Did "bring it down" and "let me in" start as shouted plays on the field to the group that just became actual lyrics?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Rich: i have great ambivalence about Pete Bagge. I've met him and we have a lot of mutual friends, but ultimately, i'll just stick to enjoying his work. I do appreciate that he's doing that series of graphic biographies of overlooked but influential women.

I found that Holy Mountain just blew me away from start to finish but then it didn't hold up so well on subsequent viewings for some reason. I think it was just the shock and awe of the visuals but once I already saw them, it wasn't as mindblowing.

@8:07 Mx. Granny (e/em): yes, I was quite surprised - especially as there were plans for this involving Peter Gabriel AFTER leaving Genesis, at least based on an interview. It never went further than a second draft.

@8:12 ultradamno: he got some hate from fellow gay people for the film - I don't see it is particularly homophobic film, only very cynical about the nature of relationships. He himself seemed to be quite demanding, perhaps narcissistic person to be with. I was not there of course, but this is the picture I get reading his contemporaries thoughts on him.
