Mr. Creamo, 80's and early 90's Louisville music you need to play: Crain, Cerebellum, Antman, Grayson Hall, Drinking Woman, Solution Unknown, Bodeco, Blinders, Undermine

You're downtown, TomDash? The park next to the ferry terminal at 34th St. is a pleasant place to have a drink and a snack, but that's all the way east. Outdoor ... dunno. Tom and Jerry's on Elizabeth is a *great* bar -- not sure what its outdoor sitch is.

And dba, which is like around 1st St. hs a big outdoor space.

Levi's should do a line inspired by music from the dirty Jerz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm
mariano:

I remember a story from the mid-90s about a Haitian sweatshop that was making jeans for Levi's. The workers were told that the company was a struggling mom-and-pop store and that if they didn't work extra hours for no pay, the company would go out of business.

Also, Levi's are not the same as they used to be; the fabric is thinner and wears out much quicker. A pair of Levi's used to last years without fraying or tearing, not so much these days.
Avatar 4:01pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

OR, consider: Levi's does Richmond VA -- the sight of GWAR in 501 denims...

Levi's Richmond scene could be good. Get Tim Barry to write a song about jumping trains in a pair of levis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm
mariano:

Wow, really, Doug? Didn't know that. Does that mean they're stretchy? I've noticed that in jeans over the last few years, the fabric is stretchy, can't stand it.

RevDruid: The Talking Pants, now there's a band name.
  4:04pm
Aric:

@woo we are thinking up new local music scenes for Levi's to exploit.
  4:05pm

Talking Pants is my new hardcore band.

Doug in JC:

@mariano Yeah, you're not imagining it! www.theatlantic.com...
  4:06pm
Aric:

Fyi anyone, Levi's 501 original and 501 shrink to fit are still 100% cotton. F that spandex noise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm
Handy Haversack:

Yeah, I still pretty much wear 501s, which seem the least stretchy, but they do not last more than a couple of years, usually. Not sure what better options there are, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm
ultradamno:

Yeah, it was 4 days ago according to the FMU search. And ohhhh, that's right Creamo: he was checking in from the road, he was moving someone to NC or VA maybe. That was around a week ago though I think.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm
ultradamno:

In guitar smashing history: On the Blow-Up Criterion disc it talks about how Antonioni originally wanted The Who because he wanted guitars smashed in the scene, but The Yardbirds manager lied that they were the ones that started instrument smashing (while urging The Who to ask for more money). This resulted in on set tension between Antonioni and Jeff Beck, who hated having to smash a guitar.

CC...Brendan Canty? Dave Grohl?
