Gasp!! Are you alleging, Mr.DJ, that Gary Lewis DIDN’T play drums on all these fine records?!? Shocking!
Avatar 5:28pm

Hi to Sir Orange Peel. Can't think of a better way to celebrate than hours of Gary Lewis!
Avatar 5:29pm

Thank you so very much, Sir Bill S. You have fine taste indeed.

Sir Dennis, Gary switched to guitar for his later waxings.

I find that my enjoyment of Gary Lewis records increases by approximately 75% when spun by DJ Orange Peel or his Big Boss
Avatar 5:35pm
Bill S.:

I've been listening to a lot of Bobby Vee from this period recently--love that magical Liberty Records sound! Always better in MONO (when available)! I'm imagining I'm listening to this on a transistor radio speaker--actually, this cheesy computer speaker is kind of like that! Keep up the great work, Orange!!!!!
Avatar 5:37pm
Orange Peel:

Chip Chip Hooray!

Yes, Sir Bobby Vee made many a fine disc.

Sir Snuff was not fussy about getting the perfect take by 1968
  5:44pm
Dennis:

“That’ll do.... let’s move on”
Avatar 5:46pm
Orange Peel:

Boyce & Hart certainly enjoyed their Del Shannon influence/friendship
Avatar 5:46pm
Bill S.:

That's part of the charm. This music goes down easy, but you can't really call it "slick." The perfect combination!

Brian Wilson was not the only genius inspired by Rubber Soul - hint hint.
Avatar 5:50pm

I can't believe the variety of songs GL covers. And it always comes out 100% sounding like Gary Lewis at Liberty.
Avatar 5:50pm
Orange Peel:

That is to his ever lasting credit, Sir Bill.
Avatar 5:51pm
Orange Peel:

and a few nods and winks to Sir Leon Russell
Avatar 5:53pm
sw2442:

A great hour...I'm singing along with almost every song here...you should convince the big boss to compile a Gary Lewis complete albums box set...all in mono and stereo...I'd buy it. Leon really does shine in the arrangements...
  5:54pm
uptown jen:

Sounds like Gary loves Graham Gouldman as much as I do.
