(Bonus Track) 101 Strings  Karma Sitar   Favoriting Sounds of Today    Originally (?) found on the 101 Strings “Sounds of Today” LP in 1967. In 1970, an “adult” version with moans turned up re-packaged on the 101-Strings - Exotic Sounds Of Love LP. In 1972, the original version appeared as the b-side to the 101-Strings “porno” single “I Remember.” This track was also used as a bonus track on the 1996 re-issue of “Astro-Sounds.”

The Animated Egg  Sure Listic   Favoriting The Young Sound '68  LP  Enter songs by "The Animated Egg" on these LPs. Along with the specific tracks that Biafra mentions, I'll also be playing each time an Animated Egg track appears on these budget psyche records. But will give you a mix of what else is on them as well. There may be a repeat or two.

The Young Sound of ’68 (Actually, The Hollywood Soundstage Chorus)  Home on the Range   Favoriting Songs of the Golden West    One of the greatest crimes of the Somerset label, is that they slapped the cover of The Young Sound ’68 on a another record that has nothing to do with it. You turn it over to the back cover, you find out that it’s actually a record by “The Hollywood Soundstage Chorus“ with “Songs of the Golden West and Songs of the Deep South, and so people thinking were getting “Out of Sight Hits For The Now People, are ironically treated to songs like “Old Folks at Home”, “Dixie” and “Home on the Range”. Always look carefully at what you’re getting from deceptive budget LPs.

The Now Generation (actually: Paul Griffin)  Frankie And Johnny   Favoriting Sock It To Me!    NO Animated Egg on this record. This track is also found on the Young Sound ’68 LP credited to “The Mustang.” It’s also on the Block Busters LP credited as “The Young Sound of Today” etc.
Favoriting
1:42:16 (Pop-up)
The Now Generation (actually: Paul Griffin aka “The Mustang”)  Sockerina   Favoriting Sock it To Me!    This track is also found on the Orange Groove - Crystal Blue Persuasion LP, uncredited. With the couple of “sock” titles on this LP, it's strange that they didn’t include Animated Egg’s “Sock It My Way.”
Favoriting
1:44:49 (Pop-up)
The Now Generation (actually: Little Joe Curtis)  Mercy, Mercy on Me   Favoriting Sock it To Me!    A re-packaging of the Little Joe Curtis song “Have Mercy on Me?” originally found on the Somerset/ Stereo Fidelity LP “Here Comes Some Soul From Otis Redding And Little Joe Curtis”, as brought up on the previous episode on budget labels.

1:50:38 (Pop-up)
The Young Sound of Today (Real Artist: The Animated Egg)  Sure Listic   Favoriting Block Busters    Upon comparison, this record has the exact track list as The Young Sound '68. This song became “Space Odyssey” on Astro Sounds.
Favoriting

I wanted to play this track then, but saved it till now to show the ridiculousness of these records. I just now realized though, that the sound is bad on this one, like they tried to take out his voice. huh, oh well... I'll play the better version of it next time :)

Well, he had a pick up band with him at the piano. He talked a lot which was great, He is real funny and as you can imagine some crazy ass stories. And get this, during the preamble to Mac Arthur Park, an LAPD chopper was raking the park with a search light. Now THAT was a real L.A. moment.
