This is an absolutely seminal album for me. The interesting thing is that this track was recorded 22 years later than the original LP (which was '71) on 4-track cassette - and though they sound different, era-of-recording-wise, they are great extra tracks. The orignal stuff is unspeakably great, too. MOre of this album in future, fer sure!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm
Ike:

@Marie, online book descriptions. I always enjoy seeing what crazy new crap is getting published. Though the insane paranormal shifter romance genre seems to be dying down a bit lately (or maybe I'm just randomly not getting those publishers lately while other copyeditors are). The billionaire romances and "dark romances" really gross me out. Fortunately I just have to do the blurbs, not the whole books.

@Ike--that actually sounds kinda fun. All this paranormal stuff. I think the director, "M. Night Shamaaylan" (misspelled here fer sher) makes garbagey movies where he always throws in some paranormal crap. I'm afraid to ask but what are "dark romances"?

"Dark romance" seems to be a gross emerging subgenre about women falling in love with kidnappers, borderline abusers, etc. etc. Really squicky. Also we have a lot of gross "MC romance" about falling for heavily tattooed outlaw bikers. Yuck. Of course we publish everything and every genre so occasionally there is good stuff too, like Chuck Tingle, LOL!

Actually, "Gas Mask" would be a great name for a punk band...

Yes, you still have the luxury of not having another show on your stream starting immediately afterward, while Destination Out no longer does.

Hey, there's an online rumor that Chuck Tingle is actually Dick Cheney...

Half Century with no Hendrix the 18th other day.
Writing about it I mentioned Jazz about three times. My head is in the right place for this...

Late to the party...missed the Billy Harper, sad (catch it in the archives). Posted my story about him back in June in the D.O. thread, sweet man!

And I've posted my Benny Carter story as well, getting to be redundant (was also very sweet...). Love this album!

Hey, RevRabbitt Nov63 - almost forgot ya! I always think of Hendrix's words the Jan. 1st of 1970 (the year he died). "Happy New Year, first of all. If we can make it through the summer. HAHAHAH!" Exact words. And he died with 3 days to go that summer. In case you needed to be bummed out even more about it, I hope that helped.

Ike:

Chuck Tingle is definitely a pen name for someone, but I don't think Dick Cheney has that much imagination. Besides, "Tingle" has often posted on Twitter about how Drumpf is a sack of "void crabs" or some such.

No "void crabs" lately, but the book titles and covers are gold: twitter.com...
