The venue had a large window facing out onto College Ave and kids were watching outside, they started doing little dance moves, he started mimicking them and back and forth for awhile.

	5:28pm jeffg: There's an ancient LCD article about improving reception, I can't remember where exactly it was but it still holds up. Basically stretch out the antenna as much as you can and try not plugging in one of the antenna leads (if you're using one of those old-school balanced wire dipoles like I am.) Also, mono's way better for cruddy reception.

	5:36pm jeffg: It makes sense. I've pulled in distant TV channels through the magic of steel wool in the past. Oh, adding ferrite beads onto random wires helps out too.
	♥ 5:37pm Ike: As I mentioned in other comments recently, the potato thing in that article actually works. I did it with a dipole antenna in a sliced-open spud back in the 90s and it helped. "Try exposing the leads on your antenna and sticking them into a potato, onion, watermelon, or houseplant." (Watermelon? Heavy, man, heavy.)

	5:28pm jeffg: There's an ancient LCD article about improving reception, I can't remember where exactly it was but it still holds up. Basically stretch out the antenna as much as you can and try not plugging in one of the antenna leads (if you're using one of those old-school balanced wire dipoles like I am.) Also, mono's way better for cruddy reception.

	5:36pm jeffg: It makes sense. I've pulled in distant TV channels through the magic of steel wool in the past. Oh, adding ferrite beads onto random wires helps out too.

"Try exposing the leads on your antenna and sticking them into a potato, onion, watermelon, or houseplant." (Watermelon? Heavy, man, heavy.)
