Good morning Bob. "I've been here / I've been there / I've been in between." The vocals on this cut have an intense Jefferson Airplane vibe.

Avatar 9:37am Bob Brainen:

Ya know, sometimes it's good to do research ~before~ you speak. Tony Allen was from Nigeria! Oy.
Hey to James in ATL,
Bop, is the movie watchable??
Avatar 9:38am TDK60:

I was going to correct you on the geography, Bob. But I held back. Hee..

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am Corey:

Good morning Bob and listeners! Once again, the best part of waking up on Saturday mornings.
Avatar 9:51am TDK60:

That Villa-Lobos was fine. I came across that album once but it was too scratchy to play. But someone had loved it prior, obviously.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:52am WilliamfromDumont:

Harry Smith, what a character.
  9:53am Listener Bop Monroe:

Hard Days Night is always watchable!
The Running Jumping Standing Still Film is basically a guy with a super 8 camera with a few friends in a hilly field doing silly stuff in 10-20 second bits. proto-pythonish, imagine 5 mins of the fish slapping dance mixed with benny hill but no girls.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am doctorjazz:

Mornin', folks!
  9:56am anon in Louisiana:

hey DJ Bob and bones, thanks somuch for your show today it's wonderful so far as always :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am Mike East:

Good morning Bob. It's been nice to hear you back on Saturday mornings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am Uncle Michael:

Bob, we say Jimmy perform in 2019. I could have done with one less Glen Campbell story and one solo piano piece!
  9:59am egould310:

That Lan Adomian tune has sent me down a rabbit hole. More great music I need to explore. Later this afternoon, of course. :-)
Avatar 9:59am Bob Brainen:

Thanks Corey, welcome.
TDK60, I took that from a really nice CD on Rev-ola's el label.
Hey, doctorjazz.
Wm. : Yeah Smith's impact was astounding, the Lomaxes too, and other lesser known ethnomusicologists. We're all the richer for it.
anon in Louisiana-thx and welcome to you.

Sheeshcago- I absolutely love the cold but I'm not sure I could take the wind of a Chi. Winter or from Lake Cauga!
  10:22am mojo61:

Before the Trump Pandemic, I typically stayed out too late on Friday nights to be awake at 9am/8am Central Time for your show. Not so for now but it's one of the few things I can put in the "positive results" column of this time of constant weirdness. Thank you.
Avatar 10:25am Bob Brainen:

Welcome Greg & Pedro!
Aw, thanks mojo61.

Avatar 10:38am Bob Brainen:

Thanks Jasen,
hey Ross T.
  10:38am mojo61:

I hear ya! No one moves here (or there for that matter) for the weather. Chicago has 2 seasons; Winter and August! I grew up at the Shore and lived for decades in NYC and when I was preparing to move here I scoffed at the weather warnings. After all, NYC winters can be pretty rough, too. Long, grey, wet, and usually quite brutal. I live right on the lake and the final block of my walk home is like an aeronautic wind tunnel with gusts that almost knock one over. Icy winds that bite and cold that cuts deep into bones. Some of us resemble Marcel Marceau walking against the wind without even trying!
  10:40am Ted Brinkley:

Very glad to find you on the air again, Bob! Thanks for the sounds.
  10:41am gene sculatti:

Hi, Bob. Just tuned in. So great to hear you back on.
