This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

amazing that there's a Mescherin's Orch. medley of Yma Sumac-informed Peruvian themes with a prominent theremin solo where her voice would be

Flash Strap:

yeah it's all Mescherin's Orchestra, a totally electronic ensemble that was really huge in the USSR! there's a second volume too... I tried to go right to the source but couldn't find the original release with this track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm
Little Danny:

Oh wait it's gotta be "Virgin of the Sun God"
Avatar 7:58pm
Flash Strap:

She toured the USSR and killed it, just blew everyone away, & then there's this - every part of this medley is straight from one of her classic albums & the theremin is just mimicking her vocal, it's amazing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm
Little Danny:

I'm loving it. I'm always looking for non-cheesy synth pop from the '60s, this is incredible.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm
Franco Twinkie:

Danny, you'll love this: In 1977 Tom and I had a drawing class at Pasadena City College. One day tom brought in a big box of all sorts of percussion instruments and passed them out to the class and just told every body to start making racket. You'd think he passed out bottles of poison the way some people reacted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm
