Favoriting JA In The AM with John Allen: Playlist from October 2, 2020 Favoriting

"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Don Henley tosses and turns. Another night, the same nightmare. Playing bass behind a Glenn Frey lookalike, some half empty beach bar, the fake Frey giving it his all to "Smuggler's Blues," but I'm just not feeling it--how could I? Christ, is this my life now? Bass in a Glenn Frey cover band? Wake, cold sweat, Don dials Glenn and then hangs up.

Can has appeared on 3552 playlists. I can't think of a better way than clicking through on each unique star and clicking the star on the song to see whether anyone has starred it.

Avatar 🎸 9:28am
YETI BOB:

@melinda: Hi. Follow-up from yesterday: If your sauerkraut is salty and has no tang, you added too much salt. Salt inhibits fermentation. A little is needed but too much will inhibit bacterial action. Low-salt fermentation results in more different types of microorganisms (both good and bad). Great thing about experimenting with cabbage is that it's fairly cheap. I felt bad when I had throw out a whole batch of peppers from my garden because they got funky in the wrong way.

Avatar 🎸 9:37am

@HH: Ok, thanks. I've never interacted with the clicky-star system. (I love everything). I didn't know if the clicks combined across shows, or what. Your comment about checking 3552 playlists made me think that they don't.

Did mark ronson get sued for this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am
coelacanth∅:

one complication is that any deviation in the entry will register it as a different song.
ie Scott McDowell's opening track "hipnosis", i know i clicked that star years ago...and if you look at playlist for (randomly) 12-27-19 and click the star for hipnosis, 86 people have favorited it; but i'm not one of them.
so it's possible that the most favorited song is not counted as such. conversely maybe someone clicked the worst can song, entered differently.
