the nerve! i had no idea. also didn't realize the popular citrus fruits are a result of hybridization / human interaction... and that they are the result of "base citrus" fruits -- just learned it all from the article linked in my profile

Haha, I totally forgot that's what that suit is, but just expanded your avatar pic, JL

hey, spodiodi, that grapefruit article is pretty interesting! I knew that it interacts with some drugs, but I didn't know it was that many. dangerous fruit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm
spodiodi:

glad you liked it, Charlie! I'd always noticed that warning on certain scripts of my own, but never really knew why. guessed it was just a high citrus level. i thought the whole base fruits being used to make other fruits was pretty interesting too! i still need to finish it myself :" (got too tired while reading last night, and have been busy all day.)
  8:56pm
Marie:

Hey Gary, loving the show! I was lucky enough to be in Uganda for a little while a few years ago and went to Victoria Falls, which is stunning. PS: I loved your reggae show and recently have been listening to the episode featuring Toots (and the Maytals?)--fantastic. Thanks for all you do, Gary!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
Gary:

Awww, thank you, Marie -- and so jealous of your stay in Uganda!
  9:00pm
Marie:

Yeah, going to Africa was a lifelong dream. My trip was a small group tour that I took with a friend and we spent most of our time in South Africa but then we headed up to Uganda to see Victoria Falls. After that we took a cruise on the Zambezi river at sunset where we saw tons of elephants and lots of hippos! It was like a dream come true. Some of those small group tours can be pretty reasonable (but then there is airfare...)

@spodiodi, interesting grapefruit link. Such a large range of meds affected, safest to not combine grapefruit with any med. Also the story is interesting regarding the development of grapefruit. I love grapefruit but when I was put on cholesterol med a few years ago I was warned about it. The article explains why..
