Thanks for the article link, Sylvia.
Agree, Roadside Picnic.
Jeffrey Davison:
Roadside Picnic: ah, I didn't hear about Joe Ruby. Legendary cartoon, for sure. And to your point about the current situation, I tend to be pessimistic, but it does seem like it's going to get worse before it gets better. Universal basic income seems a worthy idea, especially in light of the fact that the economy seems to be shifting in profound ways.

Agree that existence is mostly solitary now, except for somewhat perfunctory chats with other dwellers in this small building made up entirely of old studio apartments. We are all used to or learning to live alone so sometimes chatting seems so labored. Spent a few socially distanced hours with a good friend yesterday, dining outside, and walking around Montclair. others were doing the same and it seemed somewhat normal but it was an illusion, of course.

And thanks, Lisa. Stay well.

@Deborah (with the grown-up D, I like it), it is the teaching. Or rather, dealing with unqualified demands from parents or colleagues and when addressed, no response. Energy suckers, that's what I think. Lisa, I just see empathy. OK, I can deal with stupidity. Not so well with social stupidity.
