Beats mismatched. New mystic moods. The International Style. Pressed and dressed. Queasy listening. New ways to fail. More is more. Backroom room tones.

  3:03am David in London:

Morning Jesse and all Glotals.
What is Heck that guy’s accent claiming to be?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:04am Ignatatus666:

@Dave perhaps a New Jersey Canadian?
  3:05am That Joe:

I'm so happy to learn The Golding Institute exists. Thanks, Jesse!
  3:07am matt:

gregg turkington has done so much crazy shit i find it mind boggling. there's gotta be people who only know him for on cinema or neil hamburger that probably don't even know how deep it goes.
  3:08am David in London:

Ig, really? Is that how it sounds? To my ear he sounds like an Australian doing a bad English accent.
Avatar 3:09am Jesse Dorris:

The Golding Institute is a reputable educational center, I don't know what you all are on about
  3:11am David in London:

Was this a Top Ten single Jesse?
Avatar 3:14am Jesse Dorris:

Top 69 hit
  3:17am David in London:

Ha ha, Carry On Polyglot.
(That may not translate).
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:17am Ignatatus666:

No @ Dave just playing. I wasn’t looking at the playlist either. I hear adult bookstore and my mind goes wandering through my teenage years @Jesse PS I never heard of the Golding institute. Nor was I reading the playlist

This sounds like how I feel
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:23am Foxpox:

Avatar 3:25am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @Matthew I know the feeling
Avatar 3:26am Jesse Dorris:

  3:27am hoeg:

good morning everyone,
excellent wake-up music for us brits
Avatar 3:28am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @hoeg wakey wakey
  3:28am egould310:

This Teardrop Explodes is a little intense in my earphones. I might have to go to sleep. Finish this work and then crash.

This is nuts. I dig it.
Avatar 3:30am Jesse Dorris:

@egould good luck with the work! Things may cool off a little....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47am Matthew_London:

Fuck - this song!!!
Avatar 3:50am Jesse Dorris:

PWEI were such crap except for a couple songs where they really just hit it.
Avatar 3:50am Sylvia (France-NYC):

Hello Jesse and all!
Avatar 3:50am Sylvia (France-NYC):

was feeling sad and meh, going to dance instead :D
Avatar 3:52am Jesse Dorris:

Hellloooo @Sylvia! Might as well dance while we can....
  3:53am David in London:

Hey Sylvia. Hi Matthew.
  4:07am David in London:

Annoyingly I have to leave the house now. Thanks Jesse, will catch up later on the archive.
Avatar 4:10am Jesse Dorris:

take care David!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:57am Doris in Droitwich UK:

Morning Jesse! I've tuned in for just under an hour, but is it me or is today's playlist decisively melancholy?
Avatar 5:00am Jesse Dorris:

Hey Doris, good morning! Working through my stacks of sad 7"s, haha. The first hour had quite a bit more pep in its step. And things may look up again eventually!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:02am Doris in Droitwich UK:

Will definitely re-listen on the archive. Must check out that PWEI Cicciolina track :D
Avatar 5:02am Jesse Dorris:

It's a tasty bit of cheesecake
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:04am Doris in Droitwich UK:

Excellent! Speaking of the subject matter, I was completely obsessed with this feminist ode to Cicciolina during Eurovision season: www.youtube.com...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:05am Doris in Droitwich UK:

I totally understand (and won't be offended) if I never hear this played on Polyglot! :D
Avatar 5:05am Jesse Dorris:

Oooooh!!! I'll have to check that out, thanks.
Avatar 5:05am Jesse Dorris:

haha who knows?
Avatar 5:06am Sylvia (France-NYC):

oh Jesse, I love Antony and the Johnsons, and their cover of CIL <3
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:07am Foxpox:

That was my pledge from Copenhagen. I didn't realize it would go to all the shows I checked off, and now I'm sorry that I only mentioned Wake and Bake in the message. Polyglot is just as important to my Tuesdays!
Avatar 5:08am Jesse Dorris:

It's just magical, Sylvia, an absolute wonder.
Avatar 5:08am Jesse Dorris:

No worries, Foxpox! Thank you so much for your generous pledge, it means a lot.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:12am Foxpox:

I feel so fortunate that we get to listen to all the early-hours shows. Truly my favorite side of the station.
Avatar 5:12am Sylvia (France-NYC):

this Liza track has some strong Pet Shop Boys vibes
Avatar 5:13am Jesse Dorris:

They produced it!
Avatar 5:13am Sylvia (France-NYC):

Ha! I was on my way to wikipedia :D
Avatar 5:13am Jesse Dorris:

They did an entire album with her, it's fabulous.
  5:15am Chas:

Thanks for making insomnia enjoyable this morning! Time to try and sleep again. Keep up the great vibe.
Avatar 5:15am Sylvia (France-NYC):

I don't know her work very well tbh
Avatar 5:18am Jesse Dorris:

It's spotty but I'd highly recommend the PSB album. She does a version of "rent" with a string arrangement by Angelo Badalamenti that's extraordinary
Avatar 5:18am Jesse Dorris:

Hey @Chas sleep well
Avatar 5:20am Sylvia (France-NYC):

ooh, with Angelo Badalamenti, that sounds interesting
Avatar 5:50am Sylvia (France-NYC):

"Butchered Classics" haha indeed
  5:52am That Joe:

Butcher all classics.
Avatar 5:53am Jesse Dorris:

it's a sentimental melody
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55am Matthew_London:

Great show :)
Avatar 5:59am Jesse Dorris:
