I rarely get a 91.9 signal in NYC
West side Manhattan from the boat basin north nothing works along Henry Hudson nor the Saw Mill until you get past Valhalla. 90.1 works great out by Warwick NY so I imagine it’s great in North Jersey
91.1 is good in orange near the river

My base is Peekskill NY so predominantly I listen on 91.9 . We are very close to the Rockland tower. Our problem up this way is the tower for 100.7 WHUD (Blech) as it’s in our back yard. That tower screws up signals like you wouldn’t believe. One night they were stepping on 3 stations at different spots of the FM dial. The FCC should be more concerned about that then anything else on the air.

Yes, agree that election day should be a Federal holiday. I am always surprised when it is not. When I worked on newspapers, it was tough to just leave and vote. I have let classes out early and urged students who could vote to do so. And that electoral college has to go! This is not a country of old white men anymore!

Oh, I am so sorry! You get the parents and I get raging students. It is midterm time and emails and phone calls range from sad to accusatory. They are upsetting but not as much as they used to be. As teachers, we might be naturally empathic and process other people's emotions while those others suck our energy (qi suckers). I can feel it sometimes.
I hope the parent phone rant resolved somewhat positively ad if it continues, try to detach from the words of the parent.
And it is temporary. The wretched family will move on.

I'm Zuzu's father.
Say, what kind of a teacher are you anyway?
What do you mean sending her home like that, half naked?
Do you realize she'll probably end up with pneumonia on account of you?
Is this the sort of thing we pay taxes for - to have teachers...to have teachers like you?
Stupid, silly, careless people who send our kids home without any clothes on?
You know, maybe my kids aren't the best-dressed kids,and maybe they don't have any decent clothes..."

@Deborah: I'm a pretty dedicated Socialiast (I'm voting for Joe) and I believe that all the strife between men and women, and between white, black, etc, gets in the way of the needed Socialist overthrow of the repressive hypercapitalist power structure. Brothers, Sisters, Black, White, UNITE!
@Heidee: Guten Morgen!

I am a recovering educator. Times might change, but parents and students never will.
