Clay, this year not only a full moon but it is a blue moon that is on Halloween. It's also on a Saturday and it is daylight savings time the next day so we get an extra hour of Halloween night. the next time there is a blue moon on Halloween is 2039 and that's going to end up on a Monday. HyperDose, we have been watching a bunch lately. I thought The Lodge was quite good. Also Possessor, though it's pretty intense and quite violent. On the slightly lighter side, we liked both Extra Ordinary and Wolf of Snow Hollow, which both have some laughs but still bring the chills as well.

I saw Bruce at MSG on Thanksgiving after the family dinner. It was a birthday gift from a friend and an unforgettable experience. However, when I went to college in NJ, I was overwhelmed with Springsteen worship and was turned off for a time. I'm happy to still appreciate him and see how soldiers on with integrity.

The overexposure didn't help ... when I was a kid it was just hard to get away from Springsteen's music, there was a certain social pressure, and I'm naturally rebellous, so I gravitated toward punk and hated most mainstream stuff (except the Beatles and the Who). Now that I've been living in Chicago for decades, and am no longer being bomarded by it, some of the NJ stuff is starting to get a bit nostalgic for me. But if you see me sporting a Bon Jovi T-shirt, call for professional help!

Bruce Springsteen did not fit with my listening preferences but he became sort of a "secret" song choice to this folkie in the late 60s and 70s. It wasn't until the release of Nebraska that I actually bought an album. Bought The Rising also but both CDs are lost in the deluge. He is okay; almost nostalgic at this point.

The rabbit, of course, winds up tricking everyone in the end. He tells the King that because his liver was so sought-after, he had to leave it hidden at his home in the woods ... so they let him go to retrive it. And he hops off laughing at everyone (but also touched by the turtle's loyalty to the king). I love the way Leenalchi are adapting these centuries-old folk songs & stories.
