Mike Sin:

Hi folks! Since March when the world shut down, WFMU has worked tirelessly to ensure that we keep broadcasting 24/7. DJs have set up home studios while our "skeleton crew" keeps it all together in the main studio.

WFMU continues to be a source of comfort for many during these very trying times -- Let us know you appreciate it by pledging! Please use the pledge "widget" at the top of this playlist page if you've been enjoying this show.

All donations -- any amount -- are so greatly appreciated!

Hey there Marc Francis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm
Matt Clarke:

Hey Marc! How ya doin?

Mailman Tom:

Hi Mike! I noticed that all the remote programs make the DJs sound as if they were broadcasting from the bottom of an empty well. I guess that can't be helped. I'm just thankful that WFMU is still on the air!

Woo:

Hi to Mike Sin.

Hey Mike, and everyone, this Paragons track is one of my all-time favourites. U-Roy does a great version also.

Mike Sin:

Halloween around here was pretty cool. Folks just filled the trunks of their cars with candy, left them open, and just let the kids walk around and "self serve." I thought I was going to throw the candy off my porch to the kids like a reverse Mardi Gras or some such.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm
Matt Clarke:

@Mike Sin: Ha! Jawbreakers would take on a whole new meaning if you did that
Avatar 12:20pm
Marc Francis:

I used to love playing this at the bar I DJ'd at. Goddamn pandemic...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
Matt Clarke:

Great mixture today, Mikey! I'd go trick or treating at your house!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Frank In Queens:

Olive oil, onion, garlic, carrots, and fennel are required. Then you can use either turnips or potatoes. Crushed red pepper, salt, thyme. Saute it all then add water and boil until soft. Then add about 4 fresh plum tomatoes diced and cook until the start to soften. Then add white beans, and a green; ideally broccoli rabe, but lacinato kale will have to suffice tonight. Add the finishing touch which is a 1/3rd of a cup of polenta and cook for another few minutes. That's it!

Charlie had a huge hit with it in 1975, no. 3 country. I don't know it. Surprised it wasn't bigger on the pop charts considering how big he was the previous 2 years
