We're surrounded by Douglas Firs but they're broken up by vine maples - 'the light of the forest', as my wife's grandfather called them - so the colors at my house are rather stunning. It makes up for the coldness.

For moment I hoped that said Bassoon, Darryl, one of my favourite instruments and very few people play it.
Avatar 1:11pm
ARB:

Nice choice!!!
Avatar 1:11pm

No, sorry! I don't play any woodwind, just bass and fairly basic rhythm guitar

do you know how french call the instrument 'bassoon'?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Jan Turkenburg:

aha, but it's true what i said about wrong spellings of English words on Dutch band's record covers. I've come across quite some weirdly speled words, but maybe some of these are also the difference between US and UK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm

Yes, that's the Dutch word as well, zzm ;-)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm

It is definitely Kaz Lux, perhaps trying to sound like Bowie
Avatar 1:34pm
Linda Lee:

which came first, Bowie or the Brainbox?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Bowie
Avatar 1:35pm
worldsworstrecords:

easily! Bowie's first 45 was 1964
Avatar 1:36pm
Linda Lee:

he hadn't developed this singing style yet though. he was searching..
Avatar 1:36pm
Domenic:

The name Brainbox reminded me the group named "Maggot Brain"...A couple of decades ago a co-worker once asked me "Do know of a group named Maggot Brain" Guess he could tell..
Avatar 1:36pm
Linda Lee:

named after the funakedelic song. lovely!

Bloem de Ligny....this is lovely.
Avatar 1:38pm

i think a puzzled young Bowie picked up a Brainbox LP & found his style. it's too.. close..

Linda Lee:

to the way he sounded later, not in 69.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm

Hawkwind did a lovely single titled Brainbox Pollution. One of their last with the Lemster on bass.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Well mind you, this is the 2014 reunited Brainbox with a more polished style and sound. The Young Kaz Lux had a very distinguished voice, very different from Bowie's
