The Dead Sea Scrolls contained some of Courtney's earliest playlists. Of course most of the music he featured back then was on cylinders.
Avatar 11/18 3:50pm
Lolabelle Pancake:

That reminds me of something Victoria Spivey once said to Courtney: "Is that an Amberol cylinder in your pocket or are you just feeling frisky?"
Avatar 8:33pm

Special feature: Courtney promises that this week's show will be COMMERCIAL-FREE!

I found a typos on the internet. Is anyone listen?

I thought I was uncomfortable from sitting on piles. Then I realized they were files.

Commercial-free? Like all the lesser programs on this radio station?
Avatar 5:41pm
Lolabelle Pancake:

Hello, Rrrreggie. Courtney will explain the ramifications of today's commercial-free installment of the Philco Cheap Cigar Boudoir. It has had an impact on his support staff.

Fablio had the nerve to play a song called 'until now we suffer', indeed we did.
Avatar 6:01pm
Lolabelle Pancake:

At least this week Fablio didn't say "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD Codger."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm

No Fablio next week, at least.

So, Lolabelle, can I post a link to my late father's online Americana folk art auction sale for a fee?
It's kinda commercial...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm

Not completely new but sometimes completely silent, Lolabelle. I am somewhat embarrassed that you have guessed my age, however. I'm trying to come accross as 12.

Hi-ho, Lolabelle. A guy I know has a cousin who is married to the great-niece of Abe "Hit Sign Win Suit" Stark. Using his connections, he's rented out the side of one of the buildings in the Ebbets Fields Houses in Flatbush and would like to erect a similar sign — but with a modern twist. As such, the Old Codger's show would be perfect for this potentially mutually lucrative opportunity. Should I have him give you a call?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm
dale:

what does he smell like? cigars and failure?
Avatar 6:40pm
Lolabelle Pancake:

Hello, Gaylord. You've been on WFMU a long time. Do you know Irwin? He used to do a show on WFMU back in the 1990s. People sometimes ask about him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm
dale:

gaylord - clay played a p.j.proby song this morning and i thought of 'don't forget about me' and i thought of dust covers and i thought of you. still one of my BEST premiums....
Avatar 6:41pm
Lolabelle Pancake:

As for the offer to advertise on the Ebbets Fields Houses, Courtney is most interested. Please have Mr. Stark get in touch with me thru my management agency, the International House of Pancake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm
Gaylord Fields:

Lolabelle, Irwin and I get our finery from the same haberdashery — Lallo's House of Charles in Hoboken. I'll remind him of his former radio days the next time we tussle over the last apricot pocket square in the shop.
Avatar 6:46pm
Lolabelle Pancake:

Courtney bought a pair of spats at Lallo's House of Charles in 1946. How is Lallo doing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm
Gaylord Fields:

Lolabelle, as for the ad, I'll have one of the Stark family representatives "get in touch with" you, if you'll excuse my use of corporate jargon.

Avatar 6:50pm
Lolabelle Pancake:

SMILEY EMOJI, Dale!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm
Gaylord Fields:

Here's the good news on Lallo: His poor eyesight, combined with the fact that the notice banning Courtney from the shop has faded considerably in the 70 years it's been taped behind the counter, means Courtney may be welcome back. There's a pair of spats with Courtney's name on it that's been in the stockroom all these years. (That name embossed on the side of each of the spats has also faded.)
