Wish you stopped by too ironybread but as you will hear you there in spirit ;-$
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm
Franco Twinkie:

That was a trip to acid hell and back.
Avatar 2:06pm
Buddy Runyan:

Thought I could get “fake” stereo by listening on my phone and iPad at the same time, but the audio is over a minute apart.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm
Rich in Washington:

I hope someday someone smarter than me figures out that there is complex mathematics going on in The Shaggs' music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm
solo mon:

This music makes me want to pee my pants a little
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm
Rich in Washington:

yeah, Buddy. I have this on on the stereo in my living room/dining room and here in my bedroom/studio on separate Rokus, so they're somewhat offset timewise, which I only experience when I'm between rooms.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm
Franco Twinkie:

The cover for Bikini Tennis Shoes was dug out of a dumpster. They just fixed it up a little.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm
chresti:

Buddy, pause/play the audio on the faster one, sometimes that will get it more in sync.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm
ironybread:

This Thomas Newman track works in delay really well (I'm on earphones and iPad right now, delay is about 10 sec)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm
Rich in Washington:

the older Roku I've got hooked up to my living room stereo sometimes has this bittrate thing going on where it's slightly slower than the other newer one. If it's been streaming all day, say Friday, it will be noticeably pitched down like a slow record until I refresh it. That's using the TuneIn app.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:12pm
chresti:

I'm a little behind the audio in the kitchen, from the audio that's in the living room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm
Rich in Washington:

Richard Trythall's brother Gil did those wonderful Nashville Moog records.
The latter's more well known as a minimalist piano composer now.
Avatar 2:15pm
Buddy Runyan:

It worked! I waited for the 1,2,3,4,5, etc to sound on the phone, then hit play on the iPad and now have a fast echo. It’s gradually drifting apart now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm
Rich in Washington:

Former, I meant. Richard is still composing stuff for piano. His music is rather reminiscent of Harold Budd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm
ironybread:

I assume Mostly Other People Do The Killing eventually broke up because all their albums were recorded on a Tilt-A-Whirl that just kept going faster and faster until they were all thrown off
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm
solo mon:

A whining balloon animal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
solo mon:

This is what you can do with your body as an instrument if you keep doing those clenching excercizes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm
Franco Twinkie:

I'm about to play the trumpet as we speak.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm
Rich in Washington:

Nihilist Spasm Band vocalist Bill Exley is still with us. I had always assumed he just exploded like that guy in Scanners.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm
ironybread:

"IT'S NOT MY FAULT"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm
Rich in Washington:

I am a relative latecomer to Walker's music, so it's been fascinating to track his evolution from wonderfully buttery smooth pop to sexy apocalyptic music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm
chresti:

Me too, Scott Walker latecomer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm
ironybread:

"30 Century Man" documentary is highly recommended to all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
ironybread:

Best scene is of the Scott Walker superfan who's bought absolutely everything he ever did because he fell in love with the '60s incarnation of Scott, and doesn't even hide his contempt for the late work. Shows the camera an unopened copy of "Tilt" - "Honestly I've never listened to it."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
Franco Twinkie:

Scott Walker was a good conceptualist. Willing to forgo the easy route, which he had in the bag.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm
chresti:

On my radar since listening to wfmu. Someone, I think Larry Grogan on Testify, had a show or two highlighting Scott Walker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
Rich in Washington:

chresti, I think it may have been one of those shows which did its magic for me as well.
Avatar 2:46pm
Mr Fab:

Hey, ironybread, have had the radio on while doin stuff. Scott’s a good thing to run to wake up to (I usually work late, sleep in)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
chresti:

The sound/production is what really grabs me.
Yeah Rich, maybe 1 1/2 to 2 years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
ironybread:

Hi Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
Franco Twinkie:

I like that scene where he is directing the pummeling of a piece of meat in the studio to suggest something more sinister. Most career conscious artists would never do something like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm
chresti:

T Brinkmann and the clothes dryer...ahhh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm
Rich in Washington:

Why have I never heard of Intersystems before? This is incredible, esp. for the late 60s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm
ironybread:

Jon L. played this cut on an episode of "Over the Edge" and I about fell out of my chair
Avatar 2:58pm
Buddy Runyan:

Uh Oh, phase shift!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm
Rich in Washington:

Wonderful show, ironybread! Thanks! Glad I got to listen today, as I am grandchild free this weekend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm
chresti:

Thanks ironybread!
Avatar 2:59pm
Buddy Runyan:

Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm
Rich in Washington:

Nice seeing you here, Buddy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm
Franco Twinkie:

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, Irony. It looks nice outside. Go for a walk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm
ironybread:

Cheers everybody, thanks for listening!
