@RevRab: did Hendrix every play with a trumpet player? I think there was a Miles/Hendrix conspiracy brewing, but never happened.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
spodiodi:

i'd like to hear that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

No recording of Jimi with Trumpet I'm aware of - though it must have happened including Jams with Miles - probly quite private ? Their collaboration halted by money negotiations according to some (getting the story straight can be a challenge with most things Hendrix) - & by death as we all know...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Of course McLaughlin (jams of him & Jimi are extant) tells of meeting Miles & ripping some Bop for him - & 1st thing Miles does is walk over turn his amp up & say play like Hendrix !

...Jimi did try things with the Brecker Brothers for horns now I think of it - arranged parts really while Jimi kinda Bops (as it happens) in a clean tone...He wanted to write for bigger ensembles...lots of things...Jimi & Gil Evans was something to look forward to...
