(St. Marks) Sounds was my go-to spot in the Village for used/cheap vinyl & CDs, but I don't remember the staff much, they didn't seem to talk to you a lot. Venus, across the street, was different: the guys there would play all kinds of stuff there (from punk to oldies, & that might be where I first heard the famed Casey Kasem rant) & were friendlier, from what I remember. In their last days, they had some kind of deal where you got a token every time you bought something & could later trade them in for stuff....I miss all those places & I picked up stuff there that I'm sure is hard to find now (or selling for outrageous prices on eBay & elsewhere).

This cover just RIPs. I keep wanting to bellow "Ca Plane Pour Moi."

Why does this song resonate with so many pub and garage bands but twenty other cool as hell early Bob Seger tunes get ignored?

Given 10,000 hours I could teach myself keyboard but :
- I don't wanna learn it 'wrong' on my own
- who has 10,000 hours in their old age ??...

The Muffs were one of the bands of 2020 for me. Lots of joy, a little poignancy, catchy as can be. Exactly what I needed a lot of times.

Man, I never missed Rockpile when they came to town, they totally ruled my ‘70s! I caught that EC/Mink D/Rockpile show @ the Capitol Theater in Passaic, NJ. That was one happening venue. Saw Stymie & Spanky “in person” there in ‘74. Great show Mikey!

Saw Rockpile 2x in '79....first, opening for Blondie at Belmont Racetrack (they used to have shows there after the races, they may have opened with "The Race is On") & then a month or 2 later at the Palladium (RIP) with John Cooper Clarke (weird Brit poet who looked like Dylan in his "Blonde on Blonde" period) & David Johansen opening. Amazing both times.
