  3:13am Malcolm:

Merry Christmas Emily and listeners :)
Avatar 3:17am glennfromglendale:

My boss played a show with Dick Dale in Colorado and said he’s really strange and plays incredibly loud.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28am Emily L:

100% believe that intel. Cheers all - happy to have you here!
Avatar 3:32am glennfromglendale:

Oh man, screams of passion is amazing. Duane played a rehearsal soundboard recording of this track and it’s gotta be my fav WFMU discovery in the last year. Hearing him direct the band and build the vibe is incredible.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32am coelacanth∅:

hey Ken - i guess you got it as bad as i got it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36am coelacanth∅:

Merry Christmas Malcolm 'hope all's good with you
  3:40am Malcolm:

Thanks coel! You too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am coelacanth∅:

glenn when did your boss play with Dick Dale? toward the end of Dick's life? someone told me he played almost to the end but i haven't looked into it.
but i did read that he was into eating healthy and exercise, martial arts and didn't do drugs. pretty cool for a music legend.
  3:43am Dale Dick:

That must be the only thing that Coel has never looked into
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44am Emily L:

Sounds like a California trajectory to me
Avatar 3:45am glennfromglendale:

Prob 20 years ago. He really emphasized the insane volume
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51am coelacanth∅:

Emily ha - i guess...
  3:55am Spacebird718:

Holy hell yello get at ittt
  3:56am Spacebird718:

This show has been incredible thus far btw thanks :)
Avatar 3:56am Heidee:

Hey all, hope you had a lovely Christmas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57am Emily L:

Thnx Spacebird!! I speak with the authority of being in CA this xmas week, coela
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59am Stanley:

Good morning Emily and everyone. Monday morning with a thud. Back at work and I have to BANJO.
Avatar 4:01am Heidee:

Yay Banjo! How do you find practising it? Hi Stanley.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02am Emily L:

Hey Stanley! Hope yr not afraid to use it when provoked
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04am Stanley:

I'm afraid it's not as good as it sounds. Nothing to do with the stringed instrument. I've left it until after Christmas - I have to Bang A Nasty Job Out.
  4:06am Malcolm:

Merry twixtmas heidee and Stanley!
Avatar 4:07am Heidee:

Stanley, Is it tuned the trad. folk way (like viola/mandola: C, G, D, A)?
Hi Malcolm!
Avatar 4:09am Heidee:

Sorry, I meant the fifths one octave below a violin/mandolin (G, D, A, E) :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11am Emily L:

Stanley, sorry to hear, but will steal that great acronym
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14am coelacanth∅:

Emily (@357) it's in accordance with what i know about california...
- but not about the music industry! there are other exceptions too though.
  4:16am Malcolm:

One of Sheffield's (many) great post punk bands
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17am Stanley:

Yeah, Emily. Procrastination is one of my strengths.
Heidee you know more than I do. Big project in 2021 is to (re)learn to play guitar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17am coelacanth∅:

... i'm turning computer off Emily. still be listening for a while, i think (depending on fm signal. it wasn't good earlier)
good night/day everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18am Stanley:

sleep well coela
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19am coelacanth∅:

g'day Stanley and good luck!
Avatar 4:24am Heidee:

Stanley, Just trying to brag :-) I do not play any string instrument and therefore haven't a clue (but I asked my husband, he is from Ayr and plays trad on his guitar). But I do realize that when I hear the banjo in such tunes as jigs or reels, it sounds lower than usual, love that.
Never mind my smug banjo talk though! It doesn't matter how you play it! It's the fun that counts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27am Stanley:

I once met Mr Orridge. I found him a strange person.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39am Stanley:

Heidee - Eddi Reader, my favourite Scottish singer comes from Ayr. Does your husband know her?
Avatar 4:44am Heidee:

Stanley, apparently she grew up in Irvine, Ayrshire. She once turned up at Iain's (husband) folk club in Ayr and did a floor spot. :-) That was before Fairground Attraction.
Avatar 4:52am Heidee:

Is it Edinburgh you are located? I miss Scotland.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56am Stanley:

Heidee - normally, yes but for the last few months I've been living in Dumfriesshire, miles from anywhere. Swapped the streets and buildings for the fields and hills. Much better during these times.
Avatar 4:58am Heidee:

  5:00am Malcolm:

Loving this set
  5:15am Listener Bop Monroe:

Good morning from Manchester folks - going back to work isn't as painful with WFMU!
  5:56am Malcolm:
