Handy - as I mentined - one of my major grievances about Madrid (not a pet peeve) major grievance is the lack of water .. SI Ferry is a rouyine for me .. the former Free Home Depot weekend ferry is no longer free ... in fine weather ..the ferry to something beach NJ is great - may be that no doggies on the beach ???? no beer ... hitched into the town and had to hide the beer on the beach....

@Mike in S. Jersey (and others) — unfortunately it was for a print publication who didn’t believe in the internet until it had been buried by it (Time Out NY). If I knew where the tape was...

I had seen Keely with Sam and the Witnesses at the Desert Inn c. 1994, she had an arm in a sling (she’d slipped on some ice) and the band was SO sharp. Got on the phone with her six or seven years later and it was a long string of Louis’s cruelties and indiscretions, with her sighing and half-pardoning him as she went along (“that was the way it was then” and so forth).

Thank you Dennis for that Anita O’Day recommendation!

Mike W:

the records I have with this “Slipping into Darkness” credit Carl Bradney, wonder why the name is changed...

I was so lucky to get on a phone with Keely and I told her that first thing! She was just plain generous with the storytelling. Later I got the same feeling while interviewing Bert Jansch — he had a new album and tour and probably didn’t much feel like talking to anyone about that or anything (friendly but very soft-spoken), yet he indulged me and talked ramblingly about touring around the UK in the 1960s with Anne Briggs et al.

Hi folks! @Roberto, I was just thinking that. At some point, "segue" went from being misspelled "segway" to "segueway", at least here at FMU. It's definitely a strange word. Apparently it comes from Italian: www.merriam-webster.com...
