in Portland's Rose Parade, whole families would camp out to stake their watching space overnight or lay down duct tape where they were going to watch. They'd have these running battles with other groups who'd jump their claimed spots. It was pretty funny. I think the city banned the practice and these families who'd claimed certain spots, supposedly for generations pitched huge hissy fits.

Rich, wow. The crowds at Mardi Gras seems civilized compared to that. Up and down St. Charles, the center divider is crammed with ladders (to catch beads), living room couches and BBQ pits. I have a pictures of that somewhere.

I think some devices are more sensitive to losing a connection than others. We've got an older Roku in our living room area which fails to reconnect when there's a slightly glitchy stream on and sometimes loses it between shows while on DJ disconnects and one reconnects.
The newer Roku in this room is really robust and almost never loses connection.
