Hey Todd -- my favorite version of "Shakin' All Over" is by the Swingin' Blue Jeans. A stellar performance.

Happy new year to you and yours, Daisy!
  6:12pm Gina Bacon:

Happy Tuesday, Mike & Matt & all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm Mike Sin:

Aitch -- Gerry liked to say he saw more money from the b-side of that "Relax" single by Frankie than from the Pacemakers' version.

Hi Gina! Welcome!
  6:16pm medson:

Nice kind words for Gerry.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm Matt Clarke:

Welcome Creature Boy!
  6:40pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

I thought he was going to say he played it because he loved Matt!
Avatar 6:42pm Creature Boy:

Andrew Loog Oldham is the credited to the albums production . Didnt mick produce one of her songs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Mike Sin:

@Creature Boy -- Andrew Loog Oldham produced the PP Arnold LP.
Avatar 6:42pm Creature Boy:

Thx matt
Avatar 6:42pm Creature Boy:

Jinx
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm Gaylord Fields:

Mike, I have an A. Smith copy as well, but evidently some US copies were also published with the Bernard Webb credit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm Matt Clarke:

Mick convinced her to stay in the UK, that I know
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm Mike Sin:

@SissoCheryl -- my love song to Matt of course is "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler but it's just not appropriate for this show! ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm Matt Clarke:

We save our guilty pleasures for AFTER the show
Avatar 6:46pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Merseybeats have been getting a lot of deserved dap on the streams lately. At least 2 shows have played them!
Avatar 6:47pm Creature Boy:

Apparently Mick Jagger produced PP Arnolds Immediate single (If You Think You're) Groovy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm Matt Clarke:

As they should, Todd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm Mike Sin:

@Galyord -- Good to know. My US copy is "A. Smith" as well. I just figured that was the deal on all copies in the US.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm medson:

Blazin set guys.
  6:48pm Gina Bacon:

Love being at The Cavern!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Matt Clarke:

@Creature Boy: Written by and performed by the Small Faces. Interesting if Mick contributed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Matt Clarke:

It's a good place to be, Gina!
Avatar 6:50pm Creature Boy:

correction Jagger produced Groovy's b-side "Though It Hurts Me Badly" & Steve Marriot and Ronnie Lane produced the a-side
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm Gaylord Fields:

Not sure why there's a pseudonym discrepancy, but you can see it here: www.45cat.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm Matt Clarke:

Ahh cool! Thanks for info, Creature Boy!
Avatar 6:52pm Joe B:

wonder why Columbia didn't pick up Gerry & the Pacemakers in the US. anyone know? Mitch Miller?
  6:53pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

Mike, Matt is the wind beneath all our wings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm Matt Clarke:

They were on Laurie for most of the run, right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Gaylord Fields:

@Joe B: US and UK Columbia were unrelated. UK Columbia was on the Capitol pipeline, so Dave Dexter is to blame (once again). He did pick up Freddie and the Dreamers before he did The Beatles, so give him that.
Avatar 6:54pm Joe B:

ah thanks Gaylord!
Avatar 6:54pm Joe B:

trying to imagine the extra reverb on Ferry ...
Avatar 6:54pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Going out with a bang!
  6:54pm Gina Bacon:

Great show, you guys! Thank you!
Avatar 6:55pm AtlanticTunnel:

Brill Tribute to Gerry Guys!.....thanx......E
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm Gaylord Fields:

UK Columbia was part of EMI. That's why US Columbia's later UK equivalent was called CBS Records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm Mike Sin:

Joe B -- Columbia Records in the UK is an EMI company. No relation to the US Columbia (just like Decca in the US and UK). Columbia in the US had CBS in the UK.
  6:56pm bigplanetnoise:

Great stuff - thanks guys!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Gaylord Fields:

It must be true if Mike and I agree. ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Matt Clarke:

Thanks everyone for hanging with us tonite! A big bright new year for you all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm Mike Sin:

Thanks so much for listening tonight everybody!
