The flames had practically devoured his face - swollen, within hours, to the size of a basket ball, his face was a charred mass. Hi BC!
Hi everybody!

Otis Fodder:

Hi BC. Religious, Cult and Occult Recordings after a 3-hour virtual hangover bender. This is Sheena Gold!
Avatar 2:02pm
BC Sterrett:

This record use to show up fairly often in thrift stores, here in Ogden Utah for some reason.
Avatar 2:04pm
BC Sterrett:

We do have a Krishna temple in American Fork that people from all over attend for the festival of colors each year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm
StringOFperils:

Utah's always been a place to test weapons.
Avatar 2:06pm
BC Sterrett:

It's true, especially in Magna.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm
StringOFperils:

Funny, cuz this does actually start to sound like OAR after a while.
Avatar 2:09pm
Otis Fodder:

It all sounds like Spence. Blending well.

Good morning/afternoon!!
This is so exciting! I’ve been looking for some of this stuff forever!
Is this show archived anywhere?
Avatar 2:10pm
BC Sterrett:

Our shows are archived, not sure about the full albums of Hansadutta.
Avatar 2:11pm
Otis Fodder:

Hi Steavin, this show will be archived a few hours after it airs on BC's main page, www.wfmu.org...

I've listened to these records and read the lyrics several times and still have no idea what he's talking about.

Hola DJ BC
Avatar 2:12pm
BC Sterrett:

Hey there Martini!
Avatar 2:13pm
BC Sterrett:

Holy cow these songs are long. To my understanding he would improvise these lyrics and songs on the spot. I imagine the studio musicians trying to predict where the notes are going.
Avatar 2:14pm
BC Sterrett:

Otis, thanks for telling me about the Queue option. It's nice to be able to read the comments here more. I feel less stressed out as well.

I love how it's got this cowboy rhythm to it.

$85 for a one-off session is pretty good for '78. Hopefully Daniel got paid in real dollars and not Karma bucks.

I'm a sucker for UFO cult records, esp. if they have the Adamski chicken brooder saucer on them.

One of my friends found this Salem, Mass LP for like $8 in SLC a few years back. I was jealous for sure. He sold it of course...and not to me. lol

It's maybe my fave Magma record.

3rd Magma is my top as well. Hard to choose from the 1st to the most recent, Zess.

I remember hearing acoustic Koresh stuff on tape in the 90s. I remember it being incredibly boring. Have not heard Electric Koresh yet though, until now.

Merrill!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm
Rich in Washington:

Womach's LPs are fairly easy to come across around here, due to his funeral music production company being in my state. I think near Tacoma.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm
Rich in Washington:

as are Little Marcy and Buzz Martin records.
Avatar 2:48pm
Otis:

Is it Womach Week on WFMU? Yes, every week is Womach Week at WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm
Rich in Washington:

I should play that pastel colored 80s abomination of his.
Avatar 2:50pm
Otis:

Oh this one, Happy Again. Seemed to popup in the thrifts in Seattle often. It says something when you upgrade your Womach copy to get a near minty fold-out for a buck detailing his recovery.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm
Rich in Washington:

That's what I do, Otis. Upgrade and sell/trade the old one. It's not exactly an LP I can gift my kids, as I usually do with my dupes.
Avatar 2:53pm
BC Sterrett:

I should let you know which Merrill records I'm missing in case you run into them. I found all mine at thrift stores here as well. They show up now and again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm
Rich in Washington:

Do. They're pretty easily found around here. Not SUPER common, but pretty available.
Avatar 2:54pm
notsoKWYET:

Loving this today... perfect cooking music
Avatar 2:54pm
Otis:

Always doing that too Rich. Rarely have duplicates... just had a Arthur Lyman LP where the cover was mint and the vinyl had a layer of surface noise, just landed a new one cheap and swapped the crap vinyl for a minty one.
Avatar 2:56pm
Otis:

However my Merrill LPs from years ago did not make the cut when deciding what to move to another country with. However, Marjoe's child recordings did on LP... so there's an analysis of my vinyl priorities. Ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm
Rich in Washington:

sometimes a thrift store record is so good I buy it anyway and usually give it to my son-in-law who's gotten into records. I usually give my daughter and SiL one really goofy record and one actually tasteful record.
Avatar 2:58pm
mikewhite:

It is ok
Avatar 2:58pm
BC Sterrett:

I'm missing the one just called Merrill, that you showed in the zoom meeting with a huge closeup of his face. Others looking for: "I stood on Calvary", "A Time For Us," "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory", "My Favorite Hymns," "In Concert" and his Christmas album :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm
Rich in Washington:

I've never actually seen this whole doc. I've seen clips but not the whole thing.
Avatar 3:00pm
BC Sterrett:

Before it was available on youtube, I tracked down whomever owned the rights to this film and paid them for this DVD.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm
Rich in Washington:

Merrill seemed like an OK guy. As far as I know, he wasn't a hateful homophobe or bigot. And I can't imagine going through that kind of hardship.
Interesting to note that he dedicated his life to producing funeral music for funeral homes.
Avatar 3:01pm
BC Sterrett:

I've screened it in the past at Incredibly Strange Movie Night.
Avatar 3:01pm

Where is the music?
Avatar 3:02pm

James has it.

You are making me regret purging my Happy Again album. Ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm

It's the pre-crash Merrill album. I run into this one fairly often.
I usually face the closeup Merrill albums on the bookshelves for some intrepid neophyte cratedigger to find, to the horror of Goodwill clerks everywhere.

My copy of this LDS record was a library record at WAKM FM. It was played Sept. 6, 1966, Sept. 7, 1966, Apr. 1, 1967, and May 2, 1967 at 1 PM - according to the stamps on the back...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm

Aw, fantastic! This LP is the very first thing you hear at the beginning of the Radio Free Oz episode "Night of the Provos" in February 1967. Bergman opened every show with a tape collage. Later that night his guests from the group Provo took over the studio and signed off, playing the National Anthem 17 times
