We've been exclusively French press for a number of years. Our old faithful 80s Braun died and we couldn't find an acceptable replacement, so resorted to pressing and we've never looked back. Filtered coffee tastes so blah to me now.

but for just one - what I call a 'booster cup' - I love the Italian stovetop maker. I make a really strong cup and sweeten it with raw honey. I time it so that I'm taking my first sip when I start my show and midway through I'm still bouncing off the walls.

Both my girls have barista certificates. Simple cheapo Sunbeam espresso machine does the trick here, was about $200. Short blacks for me so I don't bother with the frothy side of it

I even like making cowboy coffee: just boil it on the stove in a pot and carefully pour it into a cup when the grounds settle to the bottom. Any accidentally poured grounds are just roughage and good for you. MMmmmm!
