Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

Rhino did a pretty decent job of reissuing Zappa's entire discography on CD, and adding to it with the issuing of previously unreleased material to boot. Were it not for that and the resurgence of vinyl, his legacy would go almost completely forgotten.

Androu: every level of that show was a wonder and successful application of outsider/avant-grade art. I went to a lecture at the New School with Mr. Panter as the speaker and it was completely fascinating. He said Paul Reubens was open to every weirdo idea that they conjured up.
