Mr Fab:

The Stooges in a show about NYC? Sure, after NYC's Danny Fields signed them to Electra, John Cale produced 'em, so they spent some valuable time in th Big Apple (does anyone call NY that anymore?)

Mr Fab:

They visited The Factory, which kinda freaked out those nice Midwestern farm boys the Ashtons, but Iggy took right to it. He did name himself "Pop" after Pop Art, after all.

On the Stooges: yes they hailed from elsewhere, but time spent in NY changed everything. And the impact was reciprocated; the proto-punks were highly influenced

Andy Warhol, Jack Smith, Ornette Coleman, LaMonte Young, many before and many since came from elsewhere but became themselves and added to what we think of as New York. Me, been here for 30 years. Nice place to visit some day.
