I use a dose of Dr. Pepper when I put a pork shoulder in the crockpot. Some other seasoning, maybe some onion. I'd have to look at my recipe card for the spice combo, but it makes a good pulled pork for tacos.

Here's one version, that suggests that all you need to do is add BBQ sauce after the pork is "pulled." But there are better things to add. The basic idea is the same as the way I do it:

I highly recommend it. When I go to the grocery store, I buy a ton of ingredients - make enough for dinner, and then put the rest in the freezer...for emergencies!
