Southwest Nebraska is actually one of the most beautiful secrets in the US, if you love startling vistas. It's gorgeous.

!!! another EC track that took years to grow on me after its release. I seem to recall there was a different mix on some versions of the LP that removed the horse clops after the line “a horse that knows arithmetic”. A mistake, I say. I want horse-math in as many songs as possible.

Nebraska isn't generally all that flat, certainly not like KS or OK.

But SW Nebraska is full of all sorts of valleys and hills. It's like something out of a beautifully shot western, only real.

It depends. Probably nicer than people in, say, Colorado, but small town Nebraska is, well, very MAGA. There are nice enough people, but be wary. I hate to say that. In Lincoln and Omaha, they're just like any typical metro area in the US. Mostly nice, likely kind of boring, possibly very interesting.
