Morning, I just listened to your show from June 5th, very enjoyable. You’ll be in my ears as I walk Eddie across cloudy Weardale this morning in search of a good pub lunch. Wish us luck

Nothing major, just did a little gig outdoors at the local punk club Thursday for my friend's celebration from her release from her servitude running the cobbler shop at a local hypermarket and the transition to her own space where she can actually make nice stuff instead of repairing other people's crappy plastic shoes. I learned "Take This Job and Shove It" just for the occasion :D . The big news isn't directly banjo-related; my plans to return to Frankfurt next year after retirement just got switched when I decided to buy a friend's wooden house just down the street from where I'm renting at the moment.Though the music scene here was a major factor in the decision, so I guess it's semi banjo-related

A good cobbler is hard to find, and trial and error means ruined shoes. Is she sticking to the cobbler trade or doing something else?

She is continuing to be a cobbler and leatherworker, but can actually do good stuff. She's going to make me bags/cases for my autoharp and ektara one of these days

I have bags made from recycled plastic. no animal parts necessary.

my friend Ken helped me turn discarded boards into a book shelf. I put a lot of knick knacks on it too. I like looked at both. and pictures of my family. they're all gone now.

There could be a market for autoharp cases. Well, at least Webhamster Henry could be interested
  4:29am
Liopi:

David Allen Coe was very popular in Frankfurt. Johnny Paycheck not as much but still played on the jukebox often

Joe in Hagerstown:

I remember when Tony Orlando was big in Germany. Impossible to get a ticket. #1 on the charts too. well deserved success.

Can't say I ever found Coe or Paycheck on a jukebox in my 24 years in Frankfurt. . Most of what I found that passed for country was Truck Stop and the like.

nobody wants to face Cleveland in the playoffs. they're on a roll that won't be stopping anytime soon.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear Genesis or Phil Collins tonight. it's the logical direction to go.
