After I had my first knee surgery at 19, I had to stop exerisizing (and I had a bad diet), and I gained weight fast). It wasn't until after I recovered from my third surgery and was able to exercise again at 21, that I lost weight again, and kept myself skinny until 31 (had to quit soccer). then, the beer calories really kicked in.

In my east coast opinion, Cali enjoys some of the best, most varied, and most accepting cycling in the nation. That, and the WWII aircraft industry, have a lot to do with how it became the cradle of American cycling's rebirth.
