Shadowfax's first album is fairly different from their later Windham Hill records. Stinson has worked with the likes of Nels and Alex Cline, Vinny Golia, and a bunch of LA folks. Can't recommend highly enough the three volumes of the Cryptogramophon label's tribute to Eric Von Essen.

Dean, indeed. Watercourse Way was a great record. I think the band got pushed into a more new age-ish direction. Heard a lot of GE's recent more effected stuff with Nels, etc. We kinda occupy sort of the same sonic palate, although I had no idea he was doing that kind of stuff until relatively recently. Gillette, NJ 07933 on 10/19 at 6:30. It's all Pete's fault I even became a guitar player, along with his early Johnny Mac influence. Funny, much of what Irene is playing today formed the bedrock of Peter's playing influence, along with John Martyn, Nick Drake, Richard Thompson, and De Grassi etc.!

We did a self titled cassette called Ping produced by David Torn back in '87-ish and a Ping trio with drums cd in the 90's that never went anywhere...our fault. There is a live performance of the trio on Horses Sing None Of It...That was nuts! And we played a bunch on Irene's show, together, solo and with various different projects! Just learned that Chris Brown, William Winant, and Ben Davis will play the N. Berkeley house that features house concerts at the end of September. Hmm...

I just hope my records stay dry (they're in gainesville, where the storm is expected to hit), well, and my friend's house where they're located stay dry as well...

I miss that kid so much...He was a great guitar player, as well. He would have been 39 this year...Jeez!

It's a beast. Took me 20+ years of occasional failed attempts. For years I'd settle for reading a few pages at random

That's what usually happens with me. I'm trying to get back into reading Catch 22. Started it a couple of times and put it aside for one reason or other.

I started Finnegans Wake in early 2020. Then something happened that distracted me.

Irene, we love your show. Without a doubt, your list is a wild mix.

You said in your break right before playing Magos Herrara "location, location, location" as a response to someone moving to Arizona. All I can say is "water, water, water". It's that one little thing many people forget: water isn't abundant in Arizona...in fact, Tucson (my birth city) relies primarily on the Colorado River. The snow pack this winter has slowed the decline some, but the future portends doom!
