Good morning Bob. You have the wrong date on the main playlist page.

I thought so, too, RobbieWhite, but then I realized that the date is correct, but the line about the hour of Clark is directly above last week's entry, leading to confusion.

Good Morning Bob + fellow listeners. Really looking forward to the hour with Gene Clark. Thinking back, I got to see Gene play live many times (McGuinn, Clark, Hillman (2X), with McGuinn, w/Carla Olson and some crazy gigs at the Lone Star with the likes of Danko, Michael Clarke, Skip Battin, John York, etc. The thing is I took all those gigs for granted. I didn’t realize, at the time, that Gene would fly away soon after 😢

Of course yesterday was sixty years since The Beatles played on Ed Sullivan for the first time. I remember watching it at my grandmothers house a couple of blocks away and truly not getting it. I was eight years old, but would soon get it when I saw the reaction it had on girls.

True! In high school my friend took me to see this guy she was nuts about that I had never heard of (Jackson Browne) It was a small club and we sat in the front row. “Out of range” is a spectacularly inapt phrase for me to have chosen. Better: “Otherwise engaged in a fashion likely rendering impossible my avidly listening to the show and participating in the repartee on the right-hand side of the screen, twinned activities to which I look forward at least three score times during a typical week.” (Best friend will be in from Nashville to visit his 95.5-year-old mother in Bucks County. I’ll be with them during most of the shew.)

↳ Song: "The Day Walk (a.k.a. "Never Before")" by "Byrds"
It was just before Christmas in 1984, and I was in New York City for the first time. One cold afternoon I walked by Folk City and there was a hand drawn poster in the window that said Gene Clark was going to play that night. Needles to say, I got really exited. But been my first time in the city, I was on constant overload. Looking at the Village voice I saw that Stranger Than Paradise by Jim Jarmusch was playing uptown at the Thalia. I went to the movie and had my mind blown. I walked all the way back downtown but was so disoriented I totally forgot about Gene Clarke!

I still suffer remorse all these years later for that one.
