Love both "Chapter 1" and "Chapter 2" or Manfred Mann, and in theory, Paul Jones was the stronger singer with more range, but there's a certain expressive bittersweet quality to Mike d'Abo's voice that really hits home with me... It's a bit undefinable like most art.

Does anyone listen to the podcast A History Of Rock Music in 500 Songs? It's excellent. I recently heard the one on Winchester Cathedral. When that became the huge hit it became, and the obvious Bonzo rip. They changed their musical style. No more covering old 78s.
