10-12 years ago I was looking around for info on Roulette Records. Back then, WFMU had something called Beware of the Blog. And one of the entries was one on Roulette by Kliph Nesteroff. Great read.. and then of course I started listening to WFMU!

.. long before that.. and I had forgotten when I was reading up on Roulette.. I would listen when visiting one of my best friends in college who is from Verona, NJ.He was a VERY cool guy and naturally he listened to WFMU. So technically I was listening in pre-internet days, but I forgot about it..lol

i love hearing everyone's WFMU discovery stories. in summer of 2018 a band i follow on social media said they were gonna play a live set on WFMU (which i'd never heard of) so i tuned in a little early and caught the end of Sheila's show and was hooked by her playlist with all the pictures and all the band names i had never heard of! the show after Sheila's that i tuned in for didn't last longer than the summer but i never missed Sheila's show again and that was my gateway drug

mine was, i was still and undergrad, and just got a real job in my profession. I looked at the wire, and they had a blurb about wfmu broadcasting online at wfmu.org. this was nov, 1998 (and i was at univ of fl), and my internet at home sucked, so, i waited for everyone to leave the office, tuned to the shitty tinny wfmu online sounds, to hear the dulcent tones of monica... the rest is history...
