Then their next album was a lot more glam, and a lot less rock and roll... and I sort of lost interest. But I still have a soft spot for this album.
	🎸 ♥ 9:14pm Austin Rich: 21 Episodes into this series, you might notice that the voices seem to repeat. The actors don't really try to change the voices they can do, so they just use the same voice for different characters. I keep meaning to use that to my advantage, and do some cut ups.

I wish I'd discovered them sooner; I could have been listening to them for years, instead of some of the nonsense I was into in the early 2000s.

	🎸 ♥ 9:41pm Austin Rich: The Frontier Gentleman sort of dances around describing Millie, which leaves me a little uncomfortable when he makes it sound like being large is not good. But in the late 50's, I think shaming people for their size was common. It's not cool, but it shows up in this story, so I feel the need to mention it. People have different shapes. Ain't 'nothin' wrong with that. Get with the times, Frontier Gentleman!

Like I said: this one gets pretty dark. We don't like the use of words like that, but people really did talk that way... even if it was wrong.

A combination of collage, new experimental records and other bits and bobs, Mid-Valley Mutations is a tour through the mind of Austin Rich, who has been broadcasting in some form since 1998. Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.
