Live performance by The Trolleyvox (L to R: Owen Biddle, Adam Stranburg, Beth Filla, Andrew Chalfen
(Listen to this set: Pop-up)

These power-pop wonders from Philly have some of the catchiest tunes The Who and Beatles never got around to writing in their folkier moments. As on their two earlier discs, the newest offering, "The Trollyvox Present The Karaoke Meltdowns" features what have been called "Flower-Power" vocals from Beth Filla and Andrew Chalfen's abstract lyricism tossed together with a bit of rock-candy guitar. Filling out the band are Owen Biddle (bass, world domination) and Adam Stranburg (drums, blues, hotel renovations). The Trolleyvox took the drive up the turnpike to play live on Irene's show in WFMU's Jersey City Studios.
