Jay Dee  plastic dreams     R&S Records    this is Robin "Jay Dee" Albers track that I heard DJ Spinna spin last Sunday over in Prospect Park Brooklyn at the big 14th Annual Clubhouse Jamboree (shout out to Lil Ray for throwing the soiree). It is a classic track and one that I own and have somewhere on some format in my vast collection but - like so much house/electronic music - since it has no vocals to readily identify it by, so I had to rack my brains to try and remember what it was and where it might be. I couldn't remember but then - as is often the case when you are no longer actively seeking something then (wouldn't ya know) it appears (pops up) before you - two days ago when I was checking out for another track a compilation called "Funky House No. 1" - a four cd set that came out a few years ago - tjhere it was. I love when that shit happens!  1992    0:55:51 (Real)

I also forgot how many people tried to jump on the hip hop bandwagon in the Eighties. That's right, the Eighties! Junk bonds, bank failures, Ronald Reagan and Rappin' Rodney! Why half the nation didn't just float through that decade in a Seconal stupor is beyond me...
