Ah, you're playing all the hits again. Very nice. Just on my first cup of caffeine.

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:08am From: Andrea

here in Italy we are at the second cup of caffeine! :)

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:11am From: Liz B.

Happy caffeination to you both, and hope everyone is having a great MLK day (observed)!

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:17am From: lonnie

keep it coming liz. if i get the lighting right, i'll be able to institute a cover charge to get into my office

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:18am From: slocker

LB, I'm so glad you are on the air today.
I'm so bitter about having to go to work today!
Doesn't seem fair, all my pals are off.
Dems da breaks I guess.

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:19am From: Radio Dave

I'd find it tough working in the office with this music. I just ordered a copy of Tonto. It's wonderful. And now to retrieve a 2nd cup of coffee in order to catch up with Italy.

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:23am From: SueB

i just saw shaun of the dead and discovered electro. and now this. it is a sign. that i need to find a dance hall. but the dream i had last night of the co-ed latrines at the outdoor rave was frightening.

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:24am From: paul

d costello. he was mysound engineering lecturer in tcd dublin, funny. listening out of berlin germany but irish. anyway i know requests are unnecessary but if you like would love to hear infant tango from first residents album, even though i have it here but always sounds nicer to hear it on radio. thx

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:27am From: Liz B.

That co-ed latrine at an outdoor rave does indeed sound like a nightmare, Sue! Cool to hear that Donnacha Costello is a prof...

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:38am From: emily

Who is Lo Moda? Is this song representative of their music?

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 9:41am From: Liz B.

Lo Moda is from Baltimore, and the whole CD is fantastic.

Liz- Kimya D. is really popular just now -- my daughter called me to say Kimya will the on "The View" at 11AM today. Good for Kimya -- hope you can get her to do a set.

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 10:31am From: Liz B.

Yeah, it's really cool and amazing that Kimya is getting such great attention. I'm probably competing with Oprah to get a Kimya appearance!

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 10:41am From: Jim De

Yeah, Kimya is great. She is totally without pretension -- she's been extremely kind to my kids when they've gone to her shows. By-the-bye, I'm your loyal listener who followed you to WFMU from KDVS, your earlier radio days. Best, Jim

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 10:47am From: Liz B.

Wow, Jim! The KDVS days!? Thanks for sticking around for so long!

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 11:28am From: Ike H

Apropos of nothing in today's show: "We must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, MATERIALISM, and militarism are incapable of being conquered." --MLK

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 11:42am From: HanaOnawa

It's nice to hear you guys talking about Ulster County. I'm in Washington now and I miss the area. Give the Shawagunks a big hug for me!

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 11:49am From: Sean Daily

They've got to move you to later in the schedule, Liz. I don't get in early enough to hear your entire show anymore.

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 11:54am From: greg

Mon Jan. 21, 2008 11:57am From: Matt

I agree. Awesome show!

Wed Jan. 23, 2008 1:06pm From: Paganite

Honestly, I went from listening to disco (ok I am dating myself) to house to deep house to acid jazz and trip hop and finally just jazz, the last stop because a) I am gettin' on now and can't dig the fast stuff and b) there was absolutely nothing good to listen to on the radio. I caught your program on my way upstate for a few days at my cabin and I was TOTALLY KNOCKED OUT. Thank you so much for bringing us all the kinky stuff, you must be a freak (in a good way) (takes one to know one, especially re: music.)
