Wed. 3/26/08 9:16am From: Irwin Chusid

Mornin', Mo. Thought that Cryptacize track sounded like Petra Haden. Is she in the band?

Wed. 3/26/08 9:20am From: monica

mornin' irwin! CD note says feat. chris cohen (curtains, ex-deerhoof).

Wed. 3/26/08 9:21am From: Parq

How nice to have a different take on rehab than that of a certain exponentially overrated Grammy-winner.

Wed. 3/26/08 9:26am From: Listener Dave from NH

I like Amy Winehouse, but it's not like I'm going to her for any insights on rehab.
I don't know about exponentially overrated, but it's not pretty to see anyone's self-destruction writ so large.

Wed. 3/26/08 9:29am From: monica

hello parq and dave from nh,
thanks for sharing... as they say in rehab.

Wed. 3/26/08 9:29am From: Lars

Where did you get that "Gospel Recording Co. of Brooklyn" CD? Google gives me nothing!

Wed. 3/26/08 9:38am From: ted

Stew's rehab song is so much greater than Amy W's

Saw Stew's Passing Strange on Broadway. Really great. Go see it! You can still get half price tickets but I bet once the TONY nominations come out (I bet the lead gets one) that will be it for cheap tickets.

Wed. 3/26/08 9:41am From: Parq

Is that the same Stew? My kid and her pals just saw it and I've got tickets for May. Now I'm even more psyched.

Wed. 3/26/08 9:42am From: Ray

Can we make this a Butch Willis morning?

Wed. 3/26/08 9:42am From: ted

Same Stew and same Stew from The Negro Problem

Wed. 3/26/08 9:45am From: listener doug

Wed. 3/26/08 10:07am From: Dickdong (UK)

Hi Monica and Hi Ted.
Are you Uke On Ted? Did you get my Twang from Stockholm? Hello Sweden!
It's going well today.

Wed. 3/26/08 10:08am From: tpat^^

yaes!!

Wed. 3/26/08 10:10am From: Negator

Aranos is awesome! They have many records over the years. I am a big fan. Thanks for hippin' me on the new one. Their sound goes from sqealing screeching folk white noise to weird songs sung in this style. Some serious NEWER psyche folk.

Wed. 3/26/08 10:11am From: Negator

There is something anarchic and subversive about Aranos. Sort of like CRASS.

Wed. 3/26/08 10:13am From: Negator

In fact, the guy whos been covering all the CRASS songs folkie style has been gettin' everyone off, but instead paying attention to that shit everyone should be listening to Aranos!

Wed. 3/26/08 10:13am From: ted

Uke of the Yukon.

Oh wait, DickDong, not of Professor Peter and Doctor Dick, the ukulele duo?

Wed. 3/26/08 10:18am From: Dickdong

Sadly no. I am a strictly closet artiste of the jew's harp.

Wed. 3/26/08 10:21am From: ted

OK, I guess I did not get your Twang from Stockholm or Hello Sweden.

Wed. 3/26/08 10:29am From: RSTVMO

Where's my drink? Oh Pat Robertson!

Wed. 3/26/08 10:51am From: Negator

The pleasure is all mine, Monica! Been admiring and identifying with your tastes for 10 years or so now. Always good to tune into your shows. By the way, great job during the fundraiser w/ Ken. You are quite the fundraising "thug". You should be a bookie!

Wed. 3/26/08 10:57am From: Listener Dave from NH

Wow. That aircheck made me uncomfortable for everyone involved with producing it.
I could almost hear the animal panic taking over as the fact that they were bombing creeped into their conscious.
Which is to say it's pretty fantastic.

Wed. 3/26/08 11:03am From: Parq

Monica, your heart is "puny" like my bankroll is Trump-esque.

Wed. 3/26/08 11:35am From: efd

Wed. 3/26/08 11:50am From: Sean Daily

I don't know whether to enjoy or be utterly terrified of that "Played in honor Ken" song. Pretty catchy, though.

Wed. 3/26/08 11:50am From: mark, uk

ENGLAND 5 - 0 GERMANY

Wed. 3/26/08 11:51am From: dei x

Was that the promised disco spanking?

Wed. 3/26/08 11:51am From: Tim

Could be "Super FCB", what would mean "FC Bayern München"

Wed. 3/26/08 11:54am From: Wes

Did someone say German Spanking? I rushed over immediately....naughty little Germans....

Wed. 3/26/08 11:55am From: ?

Marie Queenie Lyons AND Pebbles/Bam Bam in one show?! Mo, you're killing me! Love it!

Wed. 3/26/08 11:57am From: Wes

I agree, Negator...Aranos is incredibly good. FMU turned me on to his work, like so many other good acts. "..and breathe free air whilst you're choking"

Wed. 3/26/08 11:58am From: Negator

Who are these kids? This is a hit! I've got to sign them! They're gonna be huge! I'll get the papers to you Mr Flinstone and Mr Rubble tomorrow!

Wed. 3/26/08 11:58am From: GUMBY

Next time we gotta have the "Here we come on the run with a burger and a bun" song by Willma & Betty.

Wed. 3/26/08 11:59am From: Gigantor

Does anyone know who is actually singing this? I mean, we all remember the Flintstones episode, but...the voice sounds familiar--like one of those creepy religious girl singers Irwin plays sometimes?

Wed. 3/26/08 12:07pm From: Gigantor

In 1955, Stuart Hamblen had a hit single along with his family under the name "Cowboy Church Sunday School." With wife Suzy, daughters Veeva Suzanne and Obee Jane (Lisa), and two of the girls' friends, they recorded the song "Open Up Your Heart (And Let the Sunshine In)", and released it as a single. The song was recorded at the 33rpm speed so that it sounds like children singing at the normal 7" single speed of 45rpm. The tune hit #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1955.[8] "Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sunshine in" was performed on an episode of the television cartoon series The Flintstones and sung by characters Pebbles and Bamm Bamm in the mid-1960s.

Wed. 3/26/08 1:26pm From: Cynthia

There is a rhino disc tht features all the flinstone's hits.
I am currently netflixing the series. Yes. It ROCKS!
