In the mid 90's Dr.Lorenz became involved with the Northern New Jersey/NYC punk, hardcore, and indie scene beginning by working/promoting shows and also playing in some minor bands/projects.

While attending Seton Hall University he joined 89.5 WSOU immediately following the format change (January 2002). As a dj, asst. (acting) promotions director, and street team head for WSOU (2002-2004) he embraced different styles of music not as popular on the still metal and hardcore dominated station such as indie, retro/revival, and industrial. In late 2003 dr lorenz co created and hosted a specialty show called "femme fatales" which focused on bands/artists with female vocalists of all genres.

After graduating in 2004 Dr. Lorenz has worked throughout the music industry in related jobs and internships (excess db entertainment, spindrift records, lo fi entertainment, WFMU etc) and began dj'ing again on his own in late 2005. Originally going under the dj name "dj dc" Dr. Lorenz chose his new dj name after the Bella Lugosi's character from the classic film "the corpse vanishes".

Since 2002 Dr. Lorenz has consistently been dj-ing up to 3 times a week on the radio and in clubs in New York City and New Jersey, such as:

  • WSOU 89.5 (South Orange NJ) FM DJ/newscaster June 2002- Sept. 2004
  • WCCM (Randolph NJ) DJ SUMMER 2003

  • moomia, nyc
  • rebel *formerly the downtime(both rooms), nyc

2008-current In addition to ocassionally dj'ing (once or twice a month) Dr. Lorenz interns at WFMU, interns at SPINDRIFT RECORDS, promotes nights/shows/venues/events/etc and sells vintage clothing/records. Also Dr. Lorenz is available for private parties and weddings.
