Listener comments!

  12:06pm Bad Ronald:

Hey Joe!
  12:07pm Cyn:

currently seaside swingers can be found at rigger's!
  12:10pm Joe B:

Nothin' swings like Riggers!

Hey BR, MIA last week! or was it the week before? or was that me!
  12:11pm Bad Ronald:

Not you - guilty as charged - was out running around with the kids
Missed you though!!!
  12:13pm Parq:

I remember seeing that movie on TV as a kid. It was neat coz, some months before, I had actually been to Waimea Beach. Dose was some big waves, bruddah.
  12:20pm Dan:

Play more basebally songs
  12:23pm Brian C.:

Thought this might be another installment of beach blanket beelock--but nothing beats the real thing!

First song about satchell page I've ever heard--got anything on Denny McLain?
  12:26pm Cyn:

Beach Blanket Belock will be heard on July 31, 12-3!
  12:26pm Parq:

By the way, Joe, my swag arrived yesterday, and your CD looks great. I'm looking forward to getting into it, but the Thursday air schedule has too many faves for me to turn the radio off.
  12:29pm Bad Ronald:

Thanks for this CBB track - It's taking me back...
  12:30pm ?:

This tune is ripe for a mash up
  12:31pm Joe B:

Denny McLain is mentioned on the Baseball Project but we won't be hearing any of Denny's lame Capitol releases with his organ trio!

Thanks Parq!
  12:32pm Jamie:

Wow....is this Bon Jovi?
  12:33pm Jamie:

kidding.....
  12:33pm ?:

Yeah! how was the concert in central Park
  12:34pm Rubble:

I was just going to say, good tune, but his vocals suddenly sounds like a certain NJ 'racker'.... (Who I actually always thought was a decent singer, despite all the rest ...)
  12:35pm Rubble:

Oops I meant rocker. Guess I was having trouble referring to him as a rocker. Ha!
  12:35pm Brian C.:

Everybody hates Denny's "art" ! Even Tony Coulture ripped Denny. But at least he played em! Denny sez "For Me" on 1st LP is the "maddest swinginest" track. I'd agree! Guess it's not 3-chord monte material though oh well.
  12:36pm Bad Ronald:

Elivis!!!
  12:38pm north guinea hills:

sloan is still pumping out tunes, who thunkit? i actually have been underwhelmed since their "navy blues"
  12:39pm north guinea hills:

i mean i liked navy blues, just underwhelmed after that
  12:40pm Joe B:

Try Sloan's double LP from last year - Never Hear the End of It. Their best since One Chord ...
  12:46pm north guinea hills:

will do joe! (thanks). their first four albums are super awesome. and that party cd they put out where they cover canned heat's "on the road again" and it blends into stereolab's "transona five" b/c they have the same bassline w/ the crowd singing the chorus is sublime.
  12:50pm Kyle:

I LOVE Three Chord Monte!! Joe Belock is an inspiration. And I love the background music that is always playing, what is that anyways?
  12:51pm chris lowe:

the infamous "strata bowl" strikes again! tried to make a ringtone outta that last year :(
  12:52pm Bad Ronald:

Strata Bowling Theme
  12:58pm Kyle:

Thank you Bad Ronald, I see you answered that back in April http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/26931
  1:03pm Bad Ronald:

NP, it's my specialty. I got nuttin better to do...
  1:04pm Bad Ronald:

Totally dug the Jeremy Wallice Tune!
  1:06pm Joe B:

Glad you dug Jeremy! He is great live, three sets, really great. Him and Irwin are working on getting the band up to his show sometime in the near future.
  1:07pm Bad Ronald:

that's good news, I'll be sure to tune in for that! Thanks.
  1:16pm Bad Ronald:

Since this show has become a rumor mill -
Did anyone hear that Dalttrey is putting together a biopic about Moon called See Me Feel Me: Keith Moon Naked for Your Pleasure, which will be released in 2009?
  1:18pm Joe B:

Is that with Mike Myers playing Moon? They Shoulda got Downey Jr.
  1:19pm Bad Ronald:

Yeah - Agreed
  1:21pm Bad Ronald:

I wonder who they'll get to play Townsend...
  1:27pm Rubble:

CCLine sounds awesome!
  1:28pm Joe B:

Old school - all around one mic, stepping forward to play solos etc.
  1:31pm Bad Ronald:

Way Cool!
  1:33pm Bad Ronald:

Love the call letters!
  1:49pm Bad Ronald:

Killer Set!!
  1:51pm Rubble:

I heart HOAGIEFEST
  2:01pm Bad Ronald:

Drum Solo YES!!!!
  2:20pm C:

I'm surprised they went with Myers and not Zack Starkey
  2:32pm ?:

Oh no...Ron Wood is in rehab... this doesn't bode well!
  2:34pm yeow:

the talking
  2:37pm ?:

the talking??
  2:37pm Kyle:

I found it! (http://www.arcade-history.com/?n=strata-bowling&page=detail&id=2642)
  2:41pm Bad Ronald:

Nice work Kyle - Thanks!
  2:42pm ?:

Nice work Kyle! You just won't hear anyone shout 'woh' on that version of course.. cause Joe's was recorded by me personally at Barnacle Bill's, and people were playing air hockey, and cheering, at the time :) Strata Bowling is really quite something special 'live'. If you ever see the game, be sure to give it a listen!
  2:44pm Kyle:

Oh, you know I won't get away from it! I hope to find one one day. And sorry that the code didn't work
  2:45pm Kyle:

When did you record it?
  2:47pm Cynthia:

A few years ago...it is still there.
  2:48pm efd:

wow, all this time I assumed the "whoa" was part of the actual soundtrack - it fits perfectly!
  2:49pm Cynthia:

It does fit perfectly!! There was a little o' that three chord monte magic in Ortley that day !
  2:53pm Matt:

uh, is Devils really ex-Duran Duran? Was looking for them on All Music Guide.
  2:54pm Kyle:

I never noticed that "whoa" before! I made sure to listen closely just now.
  2:55pm Bad Ronald:

Me too!
  3:00pm Cynthia:

I didn't hear the trakc so I don't know if it is the same devils.. but the devils of which you speak were nick rhodes and some one else pre/early druan duran.. they went back and re-mixed and/or recorded all the pre/early duran stuff ....
  3:00pm Cynthia:
