Gracias, Mein Herr. I'll go hunt it down momentarily.

Jimmie Dale " I LIKE your dawg " "
  11:33am Carmichael:

Paul, was Jimmy performing in the UK at the time?
  11:34am Cecile:

what a wonderful memory, Paul!
  11:36am Ike:

Nice choice of words, Doug: "The snow is falling rapidly, yet with grace." I love it.
  11:42am Paul Sherratt:

Carmichael, Cecile

We've seen Jimmy Dale & Butch Hancock several times over the years but this time he was appearing at a festival called ' Americana ' We felt obliged to explain to him that the audience was likely to be comatose but not to feel any concerns about that as sitting and staring was the normal state of animation for 'Americana's ' outdoor stage audience.
  11:52am Hugo:

Luckily, whenever we've had Ameriana acts over here, they've been in small club settings and usually playing to appreciative audiences - whether Wayne the Train Hancock, Terry Allen or Mary Gauthier. Those outddor country festivals are to be avoided like the plague!
  11:56am dc pat:

Wayne the Train! Saw him last year, he's excellent.
  11:58am Paul Sherratt:

Hugo,

True. But 'Amricana' is a mildly fascinating people-watching exercise. And you do have to go along to support your mates when they get on the bill. Barrence Whitfield was on the last time I ventured in.

Mary Gauthier is over here in January and performing just up the road from us, which is handy.

( Yes, Wayne Hancock is tremendous )
  12:04pm Cecile:

oh, Barrence? I loved his first 2 records.
