A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Miss T, I should clarify in advance that I am not exaggerating or being sarcastic when I say, you *totally* rocked that shaker on Rob W's number Sunday night. Mama, you looked like you were *born* to be in a non-Anglo percussion section.

On books. Just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Brutal but redeaming book about a father and son keeping on and "carrying the light" in a post apocalyptic (?) world. Now reading The Beans Of Egypt Maine what a hoot! Dirt poor simple country folk. Any other good ones I should watch out for?

Thu. 3/19/09 10:31am From: Parq

I also like "Got Something On My Mind", and their pleasantly loopy attempt at country (what was it, "Think For Yourself"?) But there's nothing like Pretty B. I want to visit it and Cecile in their cottage and spend the afternoon showing magic tricks to their kids.

Thu. 3/19/09 10:33am From: Cecile

Cool, and stay for dinner, k?

Thu. 3/19/09 10:35am From: Parq

Get out, really?? Icepack, I would walk barefoot through the snow from midtown Manhattan to see that.

Thu. 3/19/09 10:36am From: Hatch

DJ Icepack should reconsider. I think he should do "I Am An Astronaut" by Ricky Wilde instead.

Thu. 3/19/09 10:42am From: Rob W
