Tue. 4/28/09 9:20am From: bb

ive been neglecting blues control!

Tue. 4/28/09 9:24am From: Crash

Wow, Forgot about how creepy and excellent that Moolah record is...thanks Jason & EM.

Tue. 4/28/09 9:46am From: Cecile

Hai, everyone!

Tue. 4/28/09 9:48am From: annie

morning cecile, it's been a pretty quiet audience so far..

Tue. 4/28/09 9:49am From: Bad Ronald

Good Morning!

I have a feeling that's about to change Annie...

Tue. 4/28/09 9:49am From: annie

well yeah, cecile and BR are in da house

Tue. 4/28/09 9:50am From: dc pat

hey folks. I'm having trouble working out my gig schedule. psychedelic horseshit tonight, chain and the gang tomorrow, damned coming up. and babysitters are in short supply...

Tue. 4/28/09 9:50am From: Cecile

nice. I'm going to ask Joe B. to play the Who's "Now I'm a Farmer."

maybe not.

Jason, if you aren't polarized about Todd Rundgren, can you play some?

Tue. 4/28/09 9:51am From: roofless

i liked how strung out/sleazy that cover of "sugar sugar" sounded

Tue. 4/28/09 9:51am From: Cecile

Just get some air traffic controller ear muffs and bring the kids.

Tue. 4/28/09 9:51am From: dc pat

Cecile: definitely, great request....just don't mention gardening or Iggy...

Tue. 4/28/09 9:51am From: Cecile

roofless, that's the best song to do that way.
The Original SIns did the most debauched cover - like sometihng off the first Velvets LP.

Tue. 4/28/09 9:52am From: Bad Ronald

"Now I'm a Farmer" would be nice.

Gourds!

Tue. 4/28/09 9:52am From: dc pat

you know, I would but...their kind aren't aloud..

Tue. 4/28/09 9:57am From: Cecile

you request it, BR.

aw, dcp, screw the hatas.

Tue. 4/28/09 9:58am From: Cecile

say they'r primordial dwarfs and also mute. And then threaten to sic the EEOC on 'em.

Tue. 4/28/09 9:58am From: Bad Ronald

Done!

Tue. 4/28/09 9:58am From: Cecile

but then again, getting kids to be quiet all night...

Tue. 4/28/09 9:59am From: Cecile

where in Michigan?

Tue. 4/28/09 10:01am From: dc pat

they'd probably pass out at the bar too. frowned on in these parts..

Tue. 4/28/09 10:02am From: jason

paik was/is from detroit, but i think now the 3 members are scattered across the US

Tue. 4/28/09 10:04am From: Cecile

ah. Yes, Detroit. They had to go elsewhere, like all us Michiganian/ganders

Tue. 4/28/09 10:09am From: roofless

are there bolmongani records? i'm loving this live set!

Tue. 4/28/09 10:12am From: Cecile

took the words out of my mouth, roofie.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:13am From: roofless

totally feeling that 20 second U.S. Maple-ish intro turning into pure pop riff, can't get enough of this guy!

Tue. 4/28/09 10:14am From: Pearly Sweets

Hooray!

Tue. 4/28/09 10:15am From: jason

awesome! i just linked to Beyonder Records in the playlist, wher eyou can pick up the 1st Bolmongani album. 2nd album is on the way, Ryan said he'd almost finished it before tour. But he did have a pretty killer tour split with tourmate (and sometimes fellow Paik member) Ezee Tiger

Tue. 4/28/09 10:18am From: Cecile

Just picked it up. I love this modern era.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:19am From: jason

yeah, go internets!

Tue. 4/28/09 10:19am From: Cecile

you kids are keeping me young.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:23am From: Ryan

Amazing set!! Where have you been all my life? Were the first few cuts off the s/t record?

Tue. 4/28/09 10:26am From: roofless

oh man whistling

Tue. 4/28/09 10:28am From: Cecile

I love the way Michigan people mix things.
The melody, the soul, the noise, the Anglophilia, everything.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:29am From: roofless

is the new Bolmongani release going to be CD only as well?

Tue. 4/28/09 10:30am From: Emily

Tis Bolmongani is great!

Tue. 4/28/09 10:32am From: jeff

yo jason.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:33am From: Cecile

this Ezee Tiget is good, too.
Man, Holy Mountain has a track record these days.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:33am From: jason

i think new bolmongani will be on CD at least, ryan didnt mention any other formats...i wish we had more time to talk and record a set from ezee tiger. ryan (bolmongani) and anthony (ezee tiger) both awesome dudes and musicians

Tue. 4/28/09 10:34am From: GP

Just in. Good morning.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:37am From: jason

yo let's also hear a live ezee tiger track in a few minutes

Tue. 4/28/09 10:38am From: doug from dc

Darn, missed Bolmongani's set. Saw both of these guys play at Avant Fairfax in VA last weekend, and they were my fave acts from the whole festival. Not one, but two one-man bands - awesome!

Tue. 4/28/09 10:38am From: Cecile

THANKS

Tue. 4/28/09 10:39am From: Ryan

That was a killer track as well - going to be emptying out the wallet today, it looks like

Tue. 4/28/09 10:40am From: jason

hey doug, not to worry, the set will be posted on the freemusicarchive.org. glad to hear they destroyed avant fairfax

Tue. 4/28/09 10:41am From: sahak

Tue. 4/28/09 10:46am From: Cecile

Is it 'pake" or "pike"
and is it after "nam june paik"?

Tue. 4/28/09 10:48am From: Cecile

WAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAH

Tue. 4/28/09 10:50am From: jason

i used to think it was pah-yeek but ryan pronounced it "pake"..not sure where it comes from!

Tue. 4/28/09 10:50am From: roofless

"almost wasted" is a total burner and i kinda hear the "sister ray" riff behind the solo. whole deal makes me want to get "definitely wasted." perfect for long, hot summer nights. i live in philly and am stoked to catch this shit live sometime.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:51am From: Cecile

ok, that's cool.

Tue. 4/28/09 10:51am From: Pearly Sweets

My office isn't nearly hazey enough for this song.

Tue. 4/28/09 11:50am From: Swami

Great show J!

Tue. 4/28/09 11:51am From: roofless

at least that first track did

Tue. 4/28/09 11:51am From: Pearly Sweets

I should make a mix of painter songs. Vincent, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso. I think that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Not a promising start. ... I'll just finish off the last 68 minutes with captain ahab remixes.

Tue. 4/28/09 11:52am From: Cecile

AWESOME dronage this AM.
Transcendent.

DO NOT put Don McLean's Vincent on there, Pearls.

Tue. 4/28/09 11:52am From: Pearly Sweets

I've been enjoying the latest foot village stuff a whole bunch.

Tue. 4/28/09 11:53am From: Cecile

Oh, you like that song. Sorry. Ignore that.

Tue. 4/28/09 11:53am From: Pearly Sweets

How about one of the pop punk covers of it? I am pretty sure like The Vandals or NOFX or somebody did a version in the mid-90s. I can't take off one of my three songs? I ONLY HAVE THREE!

Tue. 4/28/09 11:54am From: doug

Nice work on getting that name out there, Jason.

Tue. 4/28/09 11:55am From: Cecile
